Just played one match and really hada fun Light fight..of course it mostly Knells'. it was a nice change to be lasered instead of streaked.

Never really had a problem dealing with lagshield against lights...just lead the targets a bit. But it does seem like I'm seeing less "warping" on lights...which is a good thing...especially when swarmed by the little asssclowns.

Liked for the LoLz

I kinda miss it. My lights are all Spiders. Without lagshield, they're absolutely worthless.

They're not worthless. You just can no longer charge into a whole formation of assaults and heavies and flit about with abandon as weapons fire shrugs off you like raindrops.

You'll die. As it should be.

The flanks and outskirts and stand-off distances beckon. There you'll find your true job now. There is where the lights were always meant to be, not in the thick of the battleline like the abomination of the past few months has been.

As a Cicada player, I've definitely noticed the netcode improvements. I've been trying to dodge ballistics left and right, but a lot more of it hits me than it used to. This is great, lights won't be able to run around with impunity anymore. Their role of scouting/flanking/skirmishing (and attacking at proper opportunities rather than all the time) should be made more important now that they are actually vulnerable. And I say this as a light lover.

Cicadas benefit from the fix as much as everyone else. The better you can actually hit your opponent, the weaker SSRMs become.

Now that the Devs can get real data about mechs without having their performance artificially inflated they can see how a chassis is really performing.

With a ping of around 90 I can now hit lights pretty much all the time with lasers when shooting at the image. Lead is almost unneeded on my end. This is a huge fix and mechs die a lot faster to direct fire. My jenner is actually useful again (though a GOOD raven or commando pilot with streaks and ECM will still beat me.) Thanks pgi.

Good stuff - total damage done with my Commando reduced by half. I had to actually play carefully!

On a side note playing my DK hero was a challenge but an exhilarating challenge.

Still room for more improvement

Yup. Where I try to go until the time is right. I've noticed no significant change, except the conspicuous drop in OP rant in game. But maybe that's just me...

The reports of the demise of lagshield have been greatly exaggerated. While I've seen *zero* of the warping associated with fast-moving mechs, I still cannot hit them by aiming directly at them. The lack of warping is a great boon, so lag shield is at least a bit more predictable, but it is by no means gone.

That has not been my experience.

I killed more lights tonight in my fatty than in the previous 3 days. The legs, they fall like rain.

This is a banner day for MWO, 'mechs now have their hitboxes in approximately the right place. Now terrible pilots have no excuse when a light rips them apart. And, as I predicted, lights are still dancing on the face of assaults and slow heavies.

As a light pilot, I am thrilled to see this, as our piloting skills won't be attributed to the lagshield, and we won't hear anymore boohoohoo about how we're all cheaters. The blessed silence of pilots in their cored Atlai and Stalkers is the sweetest music that could possibly accompany this game.

Thank you PGI for your timely elimination of the lagshield, and thank you once again for creating this fantastic game.

Until collisions are back and you cannot run directly under assault mechs below their shooting arc and not get knocked down, you can not claim to be a good pilot. Once collisions are back and if you are still taking out heavies and assaults like nothing, then feel free to brag all you want.

Considering one should not have to lead with lasers, I still find myself needing to lead lights with lasers. So it's still there.

Yes, glory to the end of the lagshield scourge.

I have no shame in admitting that I am taking great joy in watching poor light pilots quickly being turned to scrap. I also have no shame in admitting that I giggled like a school girl when a Streakmando found out what happens when you spend too much time in the firing arc of a Stalker. Was so satisfying to blast his leg off, then deliver a quick K.O. I don't think he'd received the memo that he can no longer circle strafe in one direction without fear of being punished.

Also, as predicted the good light pilots will continue to thrive. Saw some awesome piloting by a Jenner pilot not too long ago. Guy survived being attacked by three or four of my team for quite some time because he knew how to dodge and use terrain to his advantage.

Oh joy, now the only lights you'll see are Carrion (ECM Streak Ravens).

Other lights become non-playable, as Ravens forced out of the arena go for the easy meat.

Congratulate yourselves on the death of scout mechs.

As a high ping player, targeting is still hell for me. Assault iudiots and heavies still push their way through without looking at the minimap.

For me, everybody is an enemy. I just get penalise for killing certain ones.

Hyperbole. It was never scouting to be in the midst of the enemy team.
