No. The lagshield is not gone, not even in the slightest. It MIGHT be a bit better but if a light is running circles around me I still can't hit it, not on the "body", not in front. Dozens of shots and it is still at 98%

Well, lagshield seems to be reduced if both players have a decent ping. My ping is ~100 and if a 3L with 270 ping runs 150kph i still have to lead like hell. Probably only local servers will fix this.

On the other hand, i have still seen much wonky stuff going on with the hitdetection/registration. Played some matches after the patch, and in the last one a dragon overheated right infront of my ddc (distance like 4 inches). He had no center torso armor left and deep red internals.
I blew 3srm 6 and a ac20 right in his center torso, causing ZERO damage.

Congratulate yourselves on the death of scout mechs.

Um, how?

A light mech was never meant to be a front line brawler, and this patch is a step in the right direction to ensuring light mechs (or should I say, fast mechs) take damage as they should. That is all.

A light mech (or should I say, fast mechs) can scout just fine. That's their ideal role.
