Yeah. The only reason the darkening screen is there is for the player list to show up clearly.
But once the start-up sequence begins, that means the match is ON. And therefore, the player list is no longer needed...as well as the darkening layer used to make that list more visible.
Once the start up sequence is initiated, the screen should be just as clear as it is during normal play (but with the countdown).
