I work overseas and play from Thailand (oh god I love playing MWO when I go back to the US for holidays, feel like a god) and I get an average ping of 340-400ms...it is pretty rough. Having a server not just for Europe and NA would be nice. The Aussies would appreciate it too. But just out of curiousity what ping do you guys run.

I know my ping determines my loadouts.....yes I use LRMS, Lasers and streaks often, but have still managed to really fall in love with my Ilya (you really do have to learn to lead a decent amount). Ok enough rambling, share your ping and how it affects your mech loadout.

I find ballistics & the PPCs to be the hardest to use. However, I still make a point to use them as secondary weapons, where possible or I'd never get any better with them.

Generally, best loadout for me is lasers + srms at the moment due to ECM and mainly solo PUGging.

Latency for me generally ranges between 280+ms to 320+ms but mostly just slightly over 300ms so I picked 301 - 350ms on average.

And yes, lasers are a must for me to lead a target and nail them with my gauss rifles. PPCs near impossible (even though this is my favorite weapon) to use since coupled with lasers gives crippling heat. Ultra A/Cs high fire rate often goes under utilised. But then, coming from Singapore I get this kind of ping for nearly every game outside South East Asia, and have more or less learned to live with it. I am considering using a proxy which will probably give me 210~240ms...which should be a small improvement for a monthly subscription.
