Wait. :D WHAT!?

50 Celsius??? My computer's CPU normally runs at 22 degrees Celsius/72 degrees Fahrenheit. (At this moment, there's no heat in the house at the moment so it is running at 13C/55F--BUT STILL!!)

And Apoc1138 believes that 60 is pretty low!? That just blows my mind.

im finding this fact to be mind boggling too! apparently 50-60c is fine during game. i would much rather have it around 35-45c.
im in aus and its summer right now, currently 21-25c night. it feels alot hotter in my room cause the air circulation is crap even with my window open. my set up might just be bad. may i ask what kind of case and heat sink your using?

If your performance is worse after the patch try reinstalling MWO. Friend of mine had to do that. His kept CTD at Mechlab.

iv never had a ctd.
mine are always during game and complete fail...... screens go off and sound repeats, i need to force power off by holding the power button down.

then you want watercooling my friend... my GPU's run at around 27-33C on full usage with a room temp of up to 25C

my CPU still runs up to about 60C because I have it overclocked to within an inch of it's life

iv been looking into this for a while now, its not terrible expensive. do you think this will be fine? http://www.corsair.c...cpu-cooler.html

btw i looked back at some of my first post when i started mwo, you have been helping me/public out since then. thank you

vsync is only of any use if you get 60+FPS - it prevents tearing on the screen which sometimes happens when you run over the monitors refresh rate... if you are getting a max of 40FPS then vsync will do nothing good for you

yea thx, that´s what i thought

the H50 is not really any better than a good "normal" heatsink

for CPU only, you would be looking at a H100 at least - but they can be noisy as hell

watercooling is one of those things where you either go big or go home ;)

I have my CPU and both GPU's on a 9x120 radiator, which allows me to run all the fans on minimum whilst overclocking everything but keeping virtually no fan noise

the small all in one coolers are a gimmick more than anything, for proper cool temps and no noise you need a full custom loop, which is a lot easier than is sounds and doesn't have to be expensive
if you get something like an EK H30 240 kit, that will be great for CPU, if you get a 360 kit you can easily add a GPU to the loop as well

and yes, I tend to get a bit narky at people if they rant like children, but ask an honest question and I'll give you an honest answer :)

cool!!

well with a few small tricks iv lowered my cpu heat but turns out my gpu run hot (not only mine) i can lower the heat on the gpu by turning the fan speed up but it will have to be on that speed alllllllll the time.
wish there was a program that could speed up my fan to the speed i want when gaming and back to low when not. the current automated fan control is crap.
anyway this has been fun.

have you tried MSI Afterburner?
if you go into properties > Fan, you can set a curve so that the fan gets faster at a certain temp and then drops down when the temp drops again (e.g. when not gaming)

For Nvidia cards http://event.msi.com...er/download.htm or http://www.evga.com/precision/ (for example) For ati cards http://sites.amd.com...s/overview.aspx
These are overclocking tools, but they have fan control options and typically savable profiles that you can turn on or off. So basically you could turn up the fan speed, but leave the base clock speeds alone.

does anyone temperature go up to 60c/140F? during game. if you do, do you crash? or stable?

60c... That's adorable...

92c in Mechlab 89c on the field.

EDIT: Figured I should add useful feedback too. MSI is the best controller I've found for Nvidia cards. I use mine to put a slight memory and GPU overclock on the card hence the temps. Stable at those temps.

7.3mb? if it took you longer to download that than it did to write that then I think I know why you have issues playing MWO ;)

60C on what? the GPU? that's a pretty low temp to be getting crashes - that would be a faulty card
most GPU's will run up to about 80C fairly happily before getting in to major problems

Yeah i run an old *** 9500gt and MWO heats it up to between 80 and 100 and it still runs stable. If your crashing at 60 something is wrong with that card methinks.

heat might not be the problem but i hate heat anyway.
this is the only game i crash alot, i know there are still bugs but man its alot!. i haven't had any more problems today so far. iv just made a few minor tweaks here and there.

really dont want to buy a new card.

ah ok, it depends what version and where you get it from... even so, 21mb should only take a few seconds, cetainly less than 1 minute, surely? I just did on my crappy office connection and it only took 30 seconds

I have a GTX 460 fermi and it runs at about 95-100% load when playing, temp is between 60-70c. When it gets to 70c MSI AB turns the fan on for me and it drops to 65.

I have vsynch on, not sure if I need it, but my fps rangs from 28-61 in a match. If I drop below 20 I know I am getting the 4FPS bug and it is time to close MWO and reopen it.

thats what i thought. normally i download files that size pretty fast too but this one saying it need 21mins............... this is Australian home connection shared between 2 to 3 active people at any given time.

then i must be crashing for some other reasons unknown to me. iv mentioned it before but im not crashing that much right now after a few tweaks.
still alil hot and im working on it as we speak.
im pretty sure its the game cuz i stress test my setup and its fine. im just trying to look for any options to reduce the crashes.
even the ones that dont make any sence lol
