As the heading state's. My main and really only Question right now is
"Is my most favorite MECH, the Beloved MAD CAT going to be in this game and if so when???"
This is a big deal maker / breaker for me.. If this MECH is not going to be in this game I'm going to find it very hard to invest time or money into this game.. I have nothing but HIGH HOPE's for this Title and the Dev's but I need my MECH ( MAD CAT / MAD CAT MK II ).... In every MW game That is my MECH of choice..
Thank you for your time,
Xer Sin
P.S.
To all you haters out there who think i need to just PILOT any damn mech because i should not be so pickie, Well I have one thing to say to you..
I've been playing MW since the Days of DOS.. I still have a CD copy of MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries. Many Mech pilots have there choice and this is mine, so please keep the NEGATIVE comments out of this thread..
Thank you....

Yes, the devs have said it will be in eventually. I don't understand why people are so particularly attached to that one. Yes it's iconic, yes it's pretty good, but I feel like it's a bit of a Li'l Sebastian right now and that's coming from someone who played MW2 A LOT.

The reason it is not in at launch is because the current timeline places us in 3049, 1 year before the clan invasions.
And since the Mad Cat is a clan mech it will not be available before some time after the clan invasions.
As to when that will be we dont know anything about, I dont think the devs have even though about that yet, so please do not ask when it will be available as we simply do not know.

You are forgetting that at the current point in time the tech from that era is lost due to the different factions bombing each other almost back to the stone age during the 3rd and 4th succession wars
Succession_Wars_(History)
As such this technology is considered to be Lostech, and not available until the clans invade.
The clans left before this time and as such has retained the technology and improved upon it.
As for the Clans they were not known about before 3050, when they invade the Inner Sphere.

There's a flaw in your canon quote.
Yes the 'mech was introduced in 2945: In the Clans.
It was theorised that it came from a melding of the Catapult and Marauder designs, and it is and always has been a CLAN OMNIMECH.
It did not appear in the Inner Sphere until my namesake fought one on The Rock during the initial days of the Clan invasion.
And a small correction Dragonlord: Lostech is considered the advanced technology from the days of the first Star League, that has subsequently been lost in the multiple succession wars.
Clan tech is not lostech. It is certainly derived from the Star League-era technology, but is superior even to that.

Clan 'Mechs will not be available in the Inner Sphere for sometime, right after the Clan Invasion. I understand that Clan 'Mechs are famous and lovable by among of many fans, but sometimes they must give themselves a chance to adapt to a new environment that they were not used to it, the IS 'Mechs, that is.
As for Lostech, they are techs left behind by Star league were previously destoryed and lost in a succession wars. But the Great Houses in the IS were trying their best to salvage them piece by piece.
Sorry for my bad English.

I also still have all my MW CD's as well as Mechcommander and every book ever written. Im going to give the devs the benefit of the doubt and see what they deliver rather than trying to set conditions. Its like being a bar with standing room only and telling the bartender that if he doesnt give you the extra olive hes going to lose your business.
In the end you are the only loser.

ontopic: yeah, the Timber Wolf is iconic, and overpowered to a similiar IS-mech (be it Marauder or other ones). but the OP-factors works for all clan-mechs. nobody forces you to spend your money on MWO, though I find it rather lame to be fixed on the ONE mech. but that is just my personal point of view.

Tell that to the Clanner.
Funny that the person who demand for his favorite mech so that he could take his toy and go home, doesn't want to try out anything that he's not used to it, and refuses to give himself a try to pilot any other mechs than just Mad Cat or any other IS mechs. Such person is like a frog living under the well.
Well, yes. I used to love the Mad Cat and some other Clan mechs, but I don't ever think that IS mechs are crappy either. As much as I liked the Clan mechs, but I gotta say that IS mechs are much more flexible than Clan mechs in terms of customization. In fact, I actually like the IS mechs like Atlas, Awesome, Catapult etc.
PS: On top of that, we should just appreciate what the game has and enjoy it instead of being a demanding brat who couldn't stand of something that doesn't feel right to them. It's not something to be... "forced".
@SCAR
And ER PPC too.

You get trolled because there are several stickies explaining what mechs are, can/cannot, will and should be in game, that you obviously could not be bothered to read.
There is also a search function in the forum, as in pretty much every internet forum ever since. It is considered good manners in every forum to use that function extensively BEFORE opening any new topic. Especially for newcomers. It goes a long way in showing that you are trying to be a member and not just a troll/leech.
Also me thinks that If you are the longtime super fan that you claim to be:
1) You would not call the Timber Wolf "Mad Cat". In both MW2 and MW2 mercs it was called with his proper name, Timber Wolf.
2) You would be happy for a what has all the ingredients to be a very good reboot of a beloved franchise of yours that has been dead for a decade at least, "MAD CAT" or not.
All in all, see you later, alligator.

Just try to keep that in mind is all. It looks like the OP said his peace and has departed regardless. Let us do the same.

I stand corrected and learned something new.

I looked this up on Sarna, but did not know about the MadCat being a clan design.
As it was introduced in 2945, I thought it was part of the lostech,
Didnt know it was a Clan designed mech.
Thanks for the update.

No problem. It is an extremely diverse universe, so keeping track of it all can take a hefty chunk of one's memory.

Well to be perfectly honest I never was much into BT.
I only played MW3 and MW4 prior to this, so my knowledge is limited at best.
So in this case it was not a faulty memory, but actually a lack of knowledge about the subject at hand.
I'm honestly more into Star Trek myself, but I still have a high appreciation for BT.
At least PGI is doing a great job with sticking to the lore and canon with this game.
Not like Cryptic's STO which is basically just an online Star Trek arcade shooter with very little attention to canon and lore.
PGI's work with this game is the reason I bought the founders pack as well, I wanted to support their efforts at making this great game.
