Magic Head Shots

Then everyone else on my team started complaining of getting head shot as well. Then someone start complaining about something called Aimbot.
Is there such a thing? And if so, are the Dev's able to detect who is using them so they can block them? Do we need to report who we think is using them so that they can investigate it?
I would hate to see one of my favorite games become unplayable do to some talent-less kids with "Aimbots".

The Catapults are the easiest to headshot, sometimes even by accident due to the size of the head hitbox.

But if you think there are, always run a screen capture or recording program when you play so you can build up some evidence. If you can prove that there are Aim Bots within the game and submit them to PGI's Email DO IT!
As a community, we need to work sooner than later to make sure such hacks are not present in the game -- but there is a right way and a wrong way to go about it.
The wrong way is making a wild acusation thread with zero evidence and name calling (See name and shame pinned thread).
The right way to go about it is to send your photo/video evidence straight to the support email (Sorry! I forget the exact name of the email address right off my head), so the proper people can get to the bottom of any potential hacks immediately.

Reporting these things that seem iffy is the best one can do, calling out people during the match because they possibly had their luckiest shot ever isn't the right approach imo. PGI supposedely has tools to detect cheating and supposedely the CSRs go after these people when they have valid proof.
Generally though people love to cry "Aimbot" in shooters, when they get killed and do not understand how / why they were killed, so I mostly blame it on the CoD crowd. So far I had very few reasons to believe that there was rampant cheating going on in MWO.

If moving targets are being headshotted at insane ranges it's hard to believe it's "just" an aimbot, maybe it'd work for someone with 5ms ping or something, there still is a lagshield, even though the last patch made it much better.

Someone has one game like that, it's happenstance.
Someone has two games like that it's coincidence.
Three games like that is probably enemy action.
Four and someone's probably going to be busted as as using a bot.
But...
Since I rarely play with people for more than one match all I can do is report the happenstance (which I have yet to need to actually).
Enough people reporting a single player, and the combat logs get looked at. If the combat logs show an improbable amount of headshots... then... boom... busted aimbot.
Too bad it doesn't keep them away permanently though.

I've never been in a game to witness anything that I truly suspected of aimbot play but as for it existing in MWO, that's already been shown. A search on youtube (via another thread) showed basically an advertisement for aimbot style software.

Some people are just lucky and get a lot of head shots in a row. Doesn't help if the other team is standing still either.

I wouldn't even begin thinking aim bot unless they are shooting you the exact moment your cockpit pixels are visible from their location.

Headshots are even easier if you have the high ground.
