One of my friends crashes around every 7-8 matches or so. Used to be alot worse, every 3-4 maybe. Anyway, point is, plenty of people who have perfectly capable computers are having these problems. Just because you or I don't doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Frozen 'missing texture' city is by far the worse one for me. It's about the only one I crash out on but when it does.
Black Screen. Only recovered once but normally locks the computer solid and have to reboot.

Believe me OP at 50-60FPS with everything on Very High my system is not 'crappy' ;)

I've never crashed during a fight. When it does crash, it seems to be during switches from a fight to the inbetween software. Then it's usually a Ctrl-D to get out of it.

While I'm sure the game can crash during a fight, I think we all know the frequency is BS.

How about we stop witch hunting people who crash or disconnect during a notoriously unstable beta test?

You aren't going to get every kill, if an enemy DC's that's 1/8th of their team they no longer have. I'll take it.

Again, I never ever ever crashed during matches... maybe twice total. But in the last 2 days, dozens of times. It's not technically a crash to desktop, im still in game and can run around shooting lasers, but server is no longer sending updates.

So, if someone else experienced this, it would be normal for them to DC every other match. Needless to say, it sucks.

So, TL;DR, Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by bad software.

Real men don't think yellow screen is match-ending. Right-shift F11, and stick with a buddy so you can shoot at what they shoot at to avoid FF. If your buddy dies, go for cap and shoot at anything that shoots back at you. (But for the love of God don't shoot at just anything you see... had a teammate nearly kill me when I tried to help him cap when he had yellow screen). Also, remember you don't have chat any longer. My best yellow screen game netted 2 kills and me surviving. But I can get 1 kill with yellow screen pretty consistently.

You know not of what you speak of ... There's a new version of yellow screen that's happened to me last patch (not happened since the latest patch, knock on wood). The entire screen is solid yellow, not ribbons, not patches ... solid yellow.

The only think you can see is little yellow and blue triangles and thankfully your minimap for navigation. I use the minimap to steer and shoot at the red triangles just to be a meat shield for the team. Hopefully, I haven't TK'd anyone doing that but I wouldn't know cause you can't see the chat.

Right shift+F11 doesn't work and just makes the client crash.

Edit: misquote ;)

Interesting I must have had a mix of both bugs! i couldn't get the Shft+F11 to work. Had Banding could not see the mini map or see any triangles... Most interesting. ;)

I enjoy the challenge of a good yellow screen. I too am able to still be a valid member of the team.

Adapt and overcome people.

Adapt to not being able to see anything at all? Challenge of a good yellow screen? Either stop taking your drugs or do take them. The opposite of what you did while writing that.

Have PGI ever tested if the Speed of SSDs may corrupt their game initializing?

I have read that Creative-Soundrivers for example often cant intialize right when they load from a SSD bcs the speed makes parts of the driver load b4 the process of intializing is completed.
I have no clue how that sort of bad coding goes thru but quite some people with SSDs had that problem.

In AoC you could not shortcut the load up screens bcs they had some initializing while showing them and it would make them fail.

The wonderous world of High Tech...

I see where you're coming from but remember there might be genuine reasons for these crashes.

My game has been stable (been playing 5 weeks) but started getting crashes after the latest patch.

This thread fixed it for me: http://mwomercs.com/...st-for-and-fix/

So that was a genuine error caused by corrupted files in the .pak files. No fault on behalf of the player.

28 games straight. Not a single crash.

I don't get it either.

It's your fault. Just stop crashing, dude.

my system has vastly improved for reliability with running the game so i'm all right jack...

that's not the attitude to have, i'm in the good reliable boat getting 2-3 solid hours of gameplay before fps dies and i get a memloss or something but i know when it's going to happen and restart the client. don't think everyone else is as blessed as you are and help out!

some people maybe suffering worse because the game isn't fully optimized and things so people have every right to call out if things are not working for them. they are the customer and it's their perogative to at least ask about the products stability and not use it if it isn't. dc'ing before death is a different matter...

i think you're just being selfish op, consider others next time before you post.

Once in a while I DISCO. Not often, but it happens. I'd imagine, just based off generalization from years of online gaming, that this is more likely the worse one's latency is with regards to the game server, and with the volume of requests to the server. ie-I'm less likely to DISCO with a low ping and at an off-peak time than I am with a high ping during a high-demand time.

Some DISCOs are farmers. Some right-before-the-kill DISCOs, some drop DISCOs, and so forth are REAL, no-kidding DISCOs. As with any other video game's multiplayer population, you take the good with the bad, and you make the best you can of it.

I prefer people just to disconnect quietly. People that blame YSOD/BSOD/4FPS over and over again just get on my moobs. We know your faking it, just disco like a good little bunny.

Yes, YSOD/BSOD/4FPS do happen but not to the same people every single game.

Au contraire, my pony-snuggling friend.
In my experience the MWO client will either crash out or get the 4FPS bug every other match on machines with older GPUs and CPUs; 512mb VRAM gets eaten up very quickly.

Thus, players with older PCs experience a lot of crashes in MWO - they're not the only ones, but they are certainly the ones whom suffer the worst of it.
