I think it is PAY2WIN the reason I think this is I have fought many purchased mechs and they are much harder to kill overall. This makes me think there internal hitboxes are much smaller than a normal model. I cant deconstruct one to prove my point with 3d max but if I could im very sure this would be why there so hard to kill and hold there weapons and equipment longer in battles. So I believe it is now a PAY2WIN game when they do in reality have a unfair advantage.

There is zero empirical evidence of this thats ever been posted on the forums and if it existed Im sure it would be and the gnashing of teeth would be appropriately epic. Anecdotally, I love seeing wangs, fangs and flames as in my personal experience they are easier to beat, not harder. I dont think there is any reason to believe the heroes are tougher at all.

Good post. :P

That would be a PR suicide that would lose them a significant portion of player-base (like for real, not just whining on the forums).

I think there are people that would continue to play this game even if someone from PGI came over to their house every night and kicked their dog. And they would say 'well it was just a beta kick'.

Hell, I don't think PGI has enough for-sale stuff. I don't see how they're supporting themselves, tbh. It's damn sure not P2W. If anything, this is the friendliest market for the player I've ever seen in a F2P game.

There would be people who cry and cry foul even if PGI released a full triple AAA MW:O tomorrow with everything balanced...

Hey, I am sorry. I didn t even read your wall-text post, however i think whatever is your discussion you got a wrong approach.

Why calling it "Pay To Win" ??

In this game actually there is absolutely nothing to Win, why you should even bother paying anything??

I mean, if there was some content, some story going on, some feature, some game mode able to justify all of the time we are spending on that platform.

If there was any motivation to Win anything, i may be reading your post... but man, what the h.ell are you talking about??

If you pay for something at this stage of this game, you have to blame yourself period.

this whole reply made me laugh... "hey i didnt read your post.. but WTF are you talking about???"

Why call it pay to win?

and

If you pay for something at this stage of this game, you have to blame yourself period

this from a founder?

I disagree about the Modules- I earn GXP rather quickly (granted that is with 50% extra, but even then.. I've earned 7000 over the course of about 4-5 hours of gaming.

Are you sure you are not looking at mech XP? The natural rate of GXP gain is very low. It took me over 300 games to earn 15000 GXP.

The game will never have any MC only equipment that gives players a huge advantage over other mechs/players. MC is for people who want to get the equipment they want instantly with no waiting.

If you look at the hero mechs that have been released, none of them have crazy awesome hard point layouts and none of them have had ECM hard points (oh god I can just imagine the ********* on the forums).

When clan tech is released I expect it to be roughly 3-4 TIMES what other weight class mechs are in the current line up (basing this off of the battle tech wiki and current pricing on mechs). That's right, clan tech will most likely be 24,000,000 + Cbills for some of the mechs that you really want (like the madcat; yes madcat not timber wolf). Clan tech will not be MC only though because like someone else in the thread said, that would be PGI losing a massive amount of player base.

This game will be like any other free to play game model (league of legends, Heros of newearth, team fortress two, Hawken, etc.) they will have extra content you can buy but nothing that will give you an advantage (equipment wise) over other players who grind for the same stuff.

Don't forget that each hero mech probly has it's characteristics increased, just like the Wang.

It was really fun seeing "Do not place the bonuses on Non-Hero Mechs" in the game files.

So I would say you will never get a Phract to the same level as the IM because it probly has bonuses to it's turn rate, arm turn rate etc. IE: better than any normal Phract will ever be.

One would have to check the game files of course.
