Reading the forums, everyone apparently gets 600+ average damage per match on any chasis, legs ravens with AC20, hits atlases in the eye from 1km, wins 1v2 fights, and so on.

However in game I don't see it at all. There are new players that run bad builds, can't shoot straight, don't maintain target / aim for priority mechs and parts / twist, but that's it. Everyone else I've seen plays same, and match outcome always depends on mechs drawn, melee boats successfull backstabbing gamble and following a single viable tactic.

So is there any video proof that those "good players" exist or it's just bs of pugstompers?

Yes, we are all thrown into the same queue.

And yes, Pugs of all skill levels are clumped together. An expert pug cant do **** in the face of 4 premades focusing fire against him. So if you generally premade and this is what you are seeing, that's the result of your i-win mode.

ELO will fix it somewhat, putting like players together. It wont however fix the premade advantage, that people like to pretend doesnt exist.

I honestly don't know anyone who focus fires in 4-mans, it's such a waste.

On topic, the real answer is that no one brags about 50 damage matches and most new players don't post on the forums.

I haven't seen anyone put out a greast hits video. But I have seen some folks pull off some impressive shot in game.

Good players exist!
Been getting 3 kills average last night while pugging alone, and the majority of the time it's 400+ damage.. and if I can do it, I'm sure there's a pile more people out there who can.

I've seen a lot of good shots made against me too. Whether they're fluke or skill, though, I wouldn't know. A lot of times it's the flukes you hear about. Wanna hear a fluke of mine? I headshot a Jenner with an AC/20. I didn't even mean to, I was aiming for his legs... But that probably would be something that the Jenner would have been like "WTF! HOW!" while my reaction was pretty much the same...

Treat weekends differently from weekdays as well. On weekends it's almost always 2x4man teams vs pug. I've seen it from both sides, I've just got to stop PUG'ing on the weekend...

As addition on weekends there is a noticable uprise in jokes about male genitalia and other players mothers.

I think you are getting my question wrong.

I asked if there're videos of "good players" that everyone can watch and think "damn, wish I was as good". For example back in the day there were Q3 players which were able to do a 360 turn midair while accelerated jump and land an instantkill on someone jumping with same speed in another direction, or players that were soloing the whole enemy team in team shooters or sims, and so on.

here check this out; puggin.
(btw notice the dmg on the rest of the blue team...)

that's from today and today i also won a 2v1 match, i jumped off a ledge in frozen to avoid fighting both at the same time

conversely, yesterday i got stomped 15 times in a row, and didn't do more than 250 dmg in any matches...
but bugs were really acting up and there were more premades than today

i guess this kind of stuff happens but it's not very consistent.
some days are better than others.

if you want to see good piloting then you're only looking for videos of light mechs... assaults can win firefights and hit precisely but you probably won't be swooning...
needless to say there is no 360 shot in a game where your torso movement is limited, and your turn radius is pathetic

it's feasible to solo the whole team in a game like call of duty where 1 shot kills (in hardcore mode)
here you need like 12 hits to put someone down... unless they're on a light - ergo: no.

@mazzy
obviously I don't expect to see such things in mwo, those were just examples of clearly superior players in other games.

matches vary from player to player, anyone claiming consistant 3-4 kills every match is either kill stealling or rolling trainees, who give pugs bad names.

i usually a kill each match and more so if the team haven't done it first, however i've scored 800+ damage yet my kill was the only one as the team got rolled.

the other night in a stalker i was playing peekaboo sniper with 2 lrm catas and used cover so they couldn't land a single hit. {under the on river city} another stalker tried flanking me and i knew he wanted to push me out of cover into lrm fire but i stood my ground and alpha'd him. it was very close but i won and eventually snipered one of the cattas dead, the other ran back to his base where he got smothered by the team and myself.

now on the other hand i had a match with mwhighlander with his becoming trade mark lrglaser coupled with gauss builds, this one was an experimentle cicada and when he was the last one he ran around taking pot shots with the last of his gauss on the battered enemy. 2 more kills on top of his first with that so thumbs up there but that's what in match is like, half work half fluke, and it's a good thing those mechs were weakened or those kills never would've happened. the skill comes in your positioning on the battlefield. i was supporting idiots who ran too far up the line and after taking one cataphract out i was taken out by a hunchi and stalker. the ones who made the biggest impression were mwhighlander and 2 others {pete something or otherand someone else} and they kept their distance outranging and group hugging stragglers. they positioned themselves to be out of harms way and always have the upperhand so they survived and did the better performaces on our team.

one last example was myself trying to find tagets getting lost then trying to get back with my team before 2 catas a hunchback and an atlas suddenly came around a hillside to cut me off and focus fire me to death whilst my team was oblivious of the forecoming team backstab routine.

so there's some of my fights over the last day or two and that's the sort of thing that really happens, goodplay, badplay. skill setup or on the run fluke. now don't talk about too much truth, you might spoil the e-peeners around here.

it exists. but it's a TEAM GAME DESIGNED AROUND TEAMS so of course TEAMS WILL DO BETTER than lone wolves.

crying about it isnt going to help. You'll just need to GTFOver yourselves and learn to play with others.

If it was designed around teams, it would have better in game communications than a 15 year old MMO. This argument is weak.

Crying about it may in fact help, when PGI finally listen to the hoards and balance the game.

It's called, "Lying". Most people who tend to go on and on about doing 600+ dmg, getting 200k+ c-bills without premium or hero mech, and/or getting 1k xp tend to lie about it.

Sure they will throw up a screen shot once in a while but think about it. If, for every post where they boast about it, they play 20+ matches, everyone gets at least one match where they simply blow the competition away. This means that they could post a screen as "proof" each and every time but it would still be BS.

You have to think 'why they took the screen shot in the first place?'. The answer is simple. They did exceptionally well that match that it warranted taking a screen shot of it and not because it was their norm.

I've recorded quite a few videos in all different mech classes, but I've only uploaded some early open beta jenner action so far:

I dont know if today was a bad day or not....victory/defeat was somehow equal the days before...but today...wtf.
we had most often teammembers dealing below 50dmg and won 5 matchs of more than 25.

we had even a lot not even dealing 20dmg in total...it felt like we are constantly running into 4 or 8 man teams or today was just a day where tons of people started to play MO for their first time. did the matchmaking change in any way?

You can go to youtube and do a search for mechwarrior online, MWO, or use the name of one of the merc units. Many merc units post videos of their matches. Sean Lang posts ride along videos on NGNG's channel.
