as everyone else said, more mechs more mechs more mechs, lol. And i think the rolewarfare system will handle the "everyone riding the same mech same config, into battle. At least spread it out in to the differerent classes. Plus variety of mechs of course will help to counter that, wink wink nudge nudge. Really though more Mechs, cant wait for the release, looks wicked awesome so far Game Making Lords. All praise.

Personally I want to see as many as possible. But at the very least, you have to have a chassis for every weight class. Also at the light and medium weights, it would be good to have mechs with different speeds such as a 4/6 Hunchback but also a 5/8 Trebuchet.

Leave the hatchetman out? he's the only mech with the awesome hatchet. Now how am i gonna cut down all those mech trees. My main vote is for "smartening the game up" advanced over basic. And i really like the sound of the legacy mechs, popular chassis used in previous incarnations of mw games and also giving people something in each weight range of the 5 ton increments. Others would prob appreciate the variety to spread across the different houses or factions or whatever. Sounds like winning tips to me.

One thing I'm not clear on is how much you'll be able to change speed (by up or downgrading the engine). There's a part of me that hopes that you can't.

As it stands, assuming that the varients off each chassis give a nice mixture of hardpoint breakdowns, the differences between mechs at a given weightpoint are purely cosmetic. Think of the Catapult. You can go with the traditional twin LRM-15 setup, or go a Warhammer-like 2 PPC setup.

Keeping people from adjusting their engines (aside from the ability to use XL when the time comes) will give more overall variation. Otherwise, we could see some mutant version of a Hunchback which has Phoenixhawk like speeds (though no jumpjets), but a lighter, energy based loadout.

As many as they can properly design and balance. Every weight would be nice, with a good balance of strengths.
