Doesn't trolling a troll thread come close to Inception? ;)

Against mechs yes (and thats pretty bad if you can exchange 2 MG's + ammo for two ML).
Against infantry they do 2W6 (average of 7) damage. This is (like all damage against infantry) doubled if they are caught without cover.

2 damage is a lot, lot more than nill even if less than a ML.
It's the same as an AC/2/

We're far from that.

Now we've located the real problem- you've confused "fun" with "tailored exclusively to my personal preferences."

Sort that failure to comprehend reality properly out, and you're well on your way to eventually becoming a useful member of society.

Let me know, and I'll buy that much MC if you need the $9 to read them.

I didn't actually click on the links or read the post, but I bet this is YET ANOTHER one of your posts on how the game is unplayable and how ECM needs to be removed.

It's been 2 months, ECM is here to stay

Why are you reinstalling your OS and making dozens of threads on the forums for a game that you don't find fun?

Really?

-Crashes one way or the other every 3 or 4 games
-Weapon balance is a sick joke
-Most electronics are useless (BAP, Artemis, NARC, TAG), except ECM which is more likely to decide the outcome of a battle than any other factor
-1 game mode with an option of either 2 or 5 objectives

If you call that "working pretty well," I'd hate to see your idea of "buggy."

You sure get a lot of kills and deaths during games you crashed loading into.

Also... gonna have to call you out on the artemis/TAG being useless there. Not a fan of NARC either but... really? TAG is useless? Come on.

We're testing balance changes all the time. And we have TT books all over; that doesn't mean we're suddenly making BattleTech Online. We're making MechWarrior Online, and that means we take the TT rules, and change them to what we think works better in an FPS environment.

Garth on the point of other electronics being worthless, is there any plans to buff Beagle? I know you said you aren't trying to recreate the board game verbatim online, but some of the functions it has ie 360 targeting from the get, as well as being able to detect targets and ECM fields through terrain would make it incredibly more useful.

i have asked the same question dozens of times. he will never give a proper answer. he just likes to complain because his streak catapult a1 had it's cheese taken away.

i disagree with how ECM works ATM but he is pushing it way too far and giving reasonable people with gripes against ECM a bad name.

I don't understand why ECM needed to do anything more than it did in TT. For 1.5 tons it innately negates all the 1.5 ton BAP units, any 4 or more tons worth of NARC, all C3 computers in range (admittedly free here, although it doesn't actually perform to the extent that it does in TT), and all 1 ton per launcher Artemis systems, or one other ECM unit. The only reason not to carry the thing would be if you were fighting irregular forces that don't believe in support gear, which you'd likely crush anyway.

I'm not against it doing more, but cranking target indicators to 200 meters and not letting LRMs or SSRMs work independently? A bit too much, I say. Using the reduced targeting range to make intelligence gathering could be a good point of the game, but premature given that it was the closest thing to a working com system as a solo drop. If the lock on mechanic made LRMs and SSRMs too powerful, why not just make them as player dependent as everything else in the game?

Useless, no. Finicky, yes. Its understandable that you have to keep the target painted for it to work; but it also means that trying to use it to counter 3/4 of the ECM carriers in cover heavy maps is problematic. Unless they try to pull a "Noisy Cricket" :S

You think weapon balance is a joke? I really can't see where youre coming from there.

All of those work fine for me. BAP isnt supposed to do a huge deal. It does speed up targeting quite well, and it does detect shut down mechs. Artemis makes Missiles group together much more effectively, exactly as its supposed too. Cant say anything for NARC as i havnt actually tried it. Lastly, TAG works really well too. Me and a friend of mine often run with TAG and LRM's and it works really well.

Maybe you struggle to count but there are infact 2 game modes, each with 2 win conditions. There are more in the pipeline as far as im aware.

The game isnt perfect by any means but its hardly broken. Nore by the way is it finished, please bear that in mind and quit your complaining.

QFT.

Only thing to add from my point of view:
NARC is the only item in the game I consider as being broken, everything else is working fine. Some stuff IMO is already perfect.
Especially regarding the development time so far.

All those links and not a single ****** one (silly forum filter... name for a well known blue pill <_< )? Im dissapointed! I deffinitely preffere the addbot forum trolls... at least you can have a good laugh at their bad grammer and silly stories.... this OP is just boring, pointless and not informative in any way.

If you have something constructive to say, try it in your own words and think about how it can be implemented into a game which is based on a board game... but doesnt have to worry too much about random dice rolls to calculate where, if and how hard you hit with any weapons.
