Okay topic says it all. I want the Founder Mechs to be again classified / designated as Founders Mechs again.

For example a Jenner JR7-D(F) is just a hero mech with a lackluster paint job without the
prestige of a Yen Lo Wang or a Jenner JR7-D(Founder).

It's not the same. It's not what I paid for when I deceided to purchase the Founders Package.
A Founders Mech is 33% the C-Bill Bonus, 33% paint job, 33% prestige to me and I feel
conned out of that 33%. Just imagine your Yen Lo Wang would be called a Centurion CN9-YLW
next. How would you like that?

I demand my bragging rights back. If you don't want to go Pay-To-Win you better make sure paying
for prestige items and mechs is treated with the respect it deserves. I am soon running out of
Founders rescources and if this misstep is not corrected I am not sure if I will shove more of my money in your direction.

Thank you very much.

Now vote and discuss.

Whatever we do, can we get rid of the article on "The Death's Knell?"

Also, I'd be cool with CN9-YLW.

Whatever they rename my Wang to, I'll still be able to use it deftly, so I don't care.

Isn't the (F) not enough?!

Me personally would love to get rid of the (F) as well and turn it into a regular model.

Damn was I glad when they changed the (Founder) to (F)...

But it seems that is just me.

Or what about other players to be able to read you personal mech nickname?

Not having a YLW, I'd actually like that. It's just another variant after all. It doesn't have the actual hero inside either.

Even putting (F) after the a founders name is a bit much even. It's not a different variant.

Not a good idea. I don't want to end up with seeing player Inapropriate5681 using mech Inapropriate5682.

NO! I hated when the mechs were called Founder AS7-D or something, instead of Atlas AS7-D. It bugs me even the "(F)".

This Founder thing has nothing to do with the Battletech universe and the Founder mechs are NOT HEROES.

This is all I care about, just let me paint it. You already can't change them, IDC what they're called, just least let me make them less hideous to observe. They honestly look like some third-era Macross Mars Base mecha wrecks, something dug out of the dirt after 50 years.

Good God NO, please. Targeting someone riding a founder's mech used to make me cringe because of how cluttered and messy it used to make the UI look, to have the whole word "Founders" on the end there. Even now, I wish they'd identify Hero mechs by their variant subtitle rather than clutter the target with a long unimpressive name.

Beyond simply looking unpleasant, it's also one of those things that take me out of the game- Why would my targeting computer identify any 'mech with a long "special" name, when every other target is marked with chassis and variant subtype?

..Wasn't that the whole idea of the founder mechs, lore-wise that they created? We have the old mechs that have been through hell and back again for many years and they are still out in battle kicking @$$.

I do not even want the (F) to show. I do not want a locked paint job on the founders mechs. I do not feel they should be required to stand out among the other mechs on the field. Were it not for the "get your name in the game" part I would have gone for the higher founders package. Mandatory "recognition" was a huge turn off for me, enough to almost not be a founder at all. If you supported the game to make yourself look better, we are glad to have your ego to help out on making this game better. If you support the game because you believe in it and wanted it to succeed then all of the "recognition" and "flare" should matter absolutely none to you.

If I am forced to own a Cat chassis until the end of time then I should get to paint it. The original paint schemes for them were waaay cooler than these, give me those back even. The Atlas looked kickburro and nao it does not. A paint stripe you can't even see isn't fun on any of these rides. Even access to the money-gouging current paint system would be better than being stuck with a mech that looks like monkeys attacked it with power sanders.

I personally feel the Founders' mechs deserve to be capable of more than they do now, given how they were valued as equal to a Hero 'mech yet have nothing to truly differentiate them from a standard chassis.
I'm however fairly unconcerned about the argument of how they are shown when targeted, but given how they have no combat-related difference I support the idea that they are targeted as such (JR7-D, HBK-4G, CPLT-C1 and AS7-D).

As for the question of their lore position, yes, the reason why Founders' 'mechs look so dull painted right now is because they are apparently Star League era old (that's like as much as five centuries?) and have been "fighting for hundreds of years". Which is in my personal opinion really cool stuff, but nontheless I have hardly used my founders' mechs relative to other models since open Beta, apart from spending my early OB days in my JR7-D.

I don't. While I use my founder Jenner on occasion, I prefer it being called what it is. Since it doesn't behave on the field any differently from other Jenners, then that what's that is.

I'm not terribly blinded by the glory of the eminance of the status of the Founder mechs.

I think it's irritating having them pointed out how ever. It's like greaters at stores, can't stand them,
"Welcome to WalMart!"
"**** You!"

Nobody is impressed at someone having a founders mech, if anything it's a bit of a trigger for people to shoot you first.

You know you've got a founders mech, isn't that enough.

I would like to be able to change the paint job on them, as the orriginal one sucks.

They need to spruce them up.

A slight GXP bonus would keep people playing these mechs that were supposed to stand out, but are now overshadowed by Hero Mechs.

personally i would just like a reason to use the founders again. eversince the atlas d-dc got ecm, my founders d has been on the shelf. only use is grinding cbills and the hero is better for that anyway.
