What was your favorite PC game moment that you can recall?

I have two(both happen to be from Star Wars Galaxies):

1. As Bounty Hunter, hunting and killing my first Jedi Player, It was a rush.

2. When I finally became a Jedi myself in the game back in 2004 or 05 (cannot recall which).

Sorry I added this to the wrong board. Probably shoud be in off topic.

I have two. Winning the Lance vs Lance tournament in MPBT:Solaris with my teammates Merlin, Rogue Warrior and Rygat where the prize was a surround sound gaming chair.

The second, and probably most gratifying, was winning the GameStorm 1v1 pilot tournament in MPBT:Solaris where the grand prize was a brand new Dell P2 450! lol

1. Combat Arms quarantine mode, first day of release; The frusteration... the frustration. No way to kill the zombies, and pushing them back was hard. But, hiding between filing cabinents somehow allowed me to live...
2. Mabinogi; first time going against big 'ol GG (During Generation 1 before he got nerfed.); O.O'
3. Maplestory; finding out there was a lego town... ;) (sarcasm)
4. Combat Arms; The numerous hundereds of times I've fallen off of the map. (sarcasm)
5. Playing touhou for the first time and reaching stage 5 before dying. :)

Half Life Episode One and Two, at the beginning, finding out that Alyx survived the ending(s).
Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl: Figuring out how to assault the bandit car park in Cordon without getting shot to pieces. (i.e., when you first star playing)
Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries: After playing through the game several times, realizing you can claim Aisa as a pilot without weekly salary by following Zellbrigen in the Trial of Possession. Also, finally playing as Steiner and realizing there are two alternate endings for Clan and Merc.
Far Cry 2, when you and the buddies are "betrayed", and you realize you're SUPPOSED to get shot to death and dumped in the desert.

And many more I'm sure.

This is a tough one. Possibly MW4 when my team finally beat one of my rival teams. One of the teams I looked up to for a long time.

in all my years of gaming...my fave moments are online.

1. Every single time in vanilla WoW that I'd log on my rogue and go to UC/Org and gank someone while they were posting auctions, OR killing the auctioneers themselves while people were trying to post. Griefing through ganking was FUN.

2. Playing on my shammy on WoW, being lvl 68 in Hellfire Peninsula helping a guildy cap the overlook, being on the roof of it, and having an 80 DK come down to try to own me...then hitting my "Thunderstorm" macro (which also did /wave at my target to say bye) and watching him fly a mile out into the basin, dying on landing. fun times, fun times.

3. World of Tanks, the many times that I'd be the last one alive in the match, facing off against 5+ enemies, and walking out with a victory/top gun/boelter's. Never underestimate an opponent who knows his surroundings.

4. SWTOR, being a level 44 assassin, getting the drop on a level 50 commando, killing him, then camping him for the next 15 minutes, killing him every time he respawned. That had to have been degrading.

5. Left 4 Dead 2, running any campaign on expert mode and being the last one alive, yet making it through the next 2 or 3 hordes with a chainsaw or katana and winning the round for the team.

6. World of Tanks, being in a T-50 on El Hallouf north spawn, scouting hamburger hill, crossing the valley and hiding in the nook, having every person on the other team gun for me, and all miss. I have a replay somewhere if anyone wants to watch it, hilarious as hell...only damage i actually took was the B1 that grinded my tracks...everyone missed their shots :)

7. World of Tanks, being in my ISU-152 with the BL-10, Ensk map, T-50-2 comes screaming through town across my nose, BAM. dead. "Sorry son, there's a sobriety checkpoint here, you didn't pass it." got like 3 more kills without having to move from that spot more than a few feet, all the same story...I should have that replay around here somewhere too. ;)

8. Combat Arms, Snow Valley, sniping some poor ******* from across the map, 5 headshots on the same guy each time he'd respawn and the invuln timer was up...and getting called a hacker.

9. RF Online, playing as a Bellato Armour Rider, getting owned by an Accretian in a launcher, coming back in my Catapult Red MAU (Mobile Assault Unit, basically a 'mech which is why I played it), and 2shotting him.

and, last but not least...

10. World of Tanks, clan match, driving my T92 artillery, getting top gun, one being a triple kill, and getting props from everyone on both teams for dropping so many houses on them...they couldn't have won.

I don't claim to be the best player on any game, I just know I'm good once I've learned the ropes. It doesn't take uber amounts of skill to win in any game, it takes strategy, plain and simple. Outgunned or outmatched? never. Just because they have a bigger gun doesn't mean they can win, it just means you need to find your own way to work around it. When it comes to 'Mechs, I prefer the lights/scouts. I may not have a big gun or a ton of armor, but I have speed, and I WILL find a way to put some lasers and SRMs straight up your 'mech's tailpipe. :D

First night in STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, the most terrifying game I've ever played, and it just gets worse as you progress. ( Mutants and deadly anomalies and ukrainians with assault rifles don't seem all that scary when you've played the game a couple of times. )

Killing someone with the rocket launcher halfway across a huge map in Unreal Tournament 2004, without using automatic lock-on. Alternatively goading some other player into jumping in low gravity while I had a lock on him in UT classic, I wish I could've seen his face as the rockets curved up directly towards him. ( Rockets are easily dodgeable while you're on the ground, not so much when you're in mid-air. )

First time unlocking all the cars in Rollcage: Stage 2. That game is ridiculously hard to finish and the top tier cars are insanely fast. ( Still haven't gotten a gold medal on Winter Wonderland II though. )

My first playthrough of The Way, that one is a story that will be with me for the rest of my life. I'm actually still working on a walkthrough for the last episode because the first ( mostly full ) walkthrough went missing. ( The game starts a bit slow but it's so freaking good I'm gonna plug it here right now, download it from the developer's site at www dot crest fallen dot us. )

First successful e-lunge in GunZ: The Duel, not just because it's hard but because I wasn't even sure I could do it. ( I still can't do it reliably, but it's rather useless compared to what I can do. )

There were too many, so I'll post just those from around 4 years back to today

Crysis/Assassins Creed: First time setting foot in those awesomely detailed worlds. I was playing on the same old computer for 9 years and when I finally could start those games, my jaw dropped to the floor. :)

Zaklínač(Witcher): Playing that game made many favorite moments. The whole game made one favorite moment of my gaming career.

Rayman: The moments I played the third one count to my favorites as well, because it made me feel I'm that little boy watching shows about games on TV, where they played many PS2 games through a telephone to win prizes. Also, the newest one, Origins, made me convince my two brothers to play together. Being one of few games to be playable with 3 people on one keyboard, it was an amazing experience.

Mass Effect (1st one): The epic moments of that game made me feel so proud over a pretty bland character. How amazing a game needs to be to achieve this?

Of course there were many, many more, but these are the ones I remember easily, because of both their "importance" and the fact they are pretty recent. ;)

On the Crysis Wars, I was playing 16 vs 16 Power Struggle on Mesa. I spawned on the US team, but instead of taking the road to the Prototype Factory, I decided to climb up to the edges of the canyon in a jeep. Then zoomed toward a bump at the edge of a tall cliff at 80mph, and began my flight. Usually when I do this, I land on a plateau directly beside the Tank Factory, but not this time.

Instead, I collided in mid-air with a North Korean helicopter that was passing by. I got stuck in the rotor blades, and both my jeep and the chopper fell to the ground. The chopper had 4 players in it!

Just the Mechwarrior ones (because the list would be to long otherwise):

1. MPBT3025: Dropping alone in a Javelin F against four Panther players. I asked them if we could do duels to keep it fair and they kept silent. So I had to engage them all at once. After I disarmed the third of them of his PPC, they finaly startet talking to me by accusing me of being a cheat. I disarmed the fourth and got to some distance to reply and told them to call a mod they should check me out if they believe so. I started to engage again and got a few messages I will better not repeat. Without their main weapons it was easy to pick them apart for good and the match ended with me winning. After the match they reported me as a cheater (the server log showed no evidence to support them) and got themselfs a warning for their foul language (which did show in the logs). I have never seen them again afterwards. I don't know if I simply had luck, or if they were so bad, but to win a four on one situation like that, made me feel mighty good.

2. MPBT3025: Dropping again alone in a Raven against four Hunchback Js. This time my opponents offered me duels and I accepted. The terrain was filled with high and steep mountains, so I took of for one of those. I kept hiding in its shadow until I noticed a HBK coming around to engage me. I took the other way around the hill and killed him with a few quick shots to his back. Immidatly the next opponent startet coming after me. I took some hits from his LRM but kept running until I was behind the hill again. Instead of staying there I used that hill to get into the cover of the next and startet to climb my new cover. When I reached the top I saw my opponent coming around the first hill and immediatly opened fire seperating him from his right torso. He turned but missed me with his remaining medium laser. My next volley removed him from my sights. The next one, noticing how I dealt with his comrades, came at me in a more agressive way. I manouvered myself in the previous engagements a bit to close to the edge of the map and had not enough room to outmanouver him like I did the other two. So I had to face him head on. Again luck was on my side, because he missed his first volley of LRMs. I used that opening to get closer and got him a moment before he could pull the trigger for his medium lasers. Again seperating a Hunchback of his right side and most of his weaponry. He could land a few shots with the remainig medium laser and took out part of my weapons before he finaly died. Before I could get into position again to even have a slight chance I got a "sorry, it was a good game, but we win this one". The last Hunchback had closed to firing range while I fought his last comrade and opened up with his LRMs, killing me.
The whole match took nearly 20 minutes and I would have acted the exact same way as the last opponent, which I told him after the match. We talked for a few more minutes, had a lot of fun together, before we went our different ways, looking for new enemies to fight.

In both those cases my lance got lost on the drop due to a connection glitch, either by the server or the players. Never expect me to give up if I am alone! I will continue to fight, hard, fast and dirty until either me or my opponents are down.

3. Mechwarrior 3 local network multiplayer: Can't remember the name, but there was a map with a monorail track and train. Because I had a quiet moment I shot at the train. That very moment I noticed an enemy coming into range so I turned to face him. The next thing I saw, was an outside view, that showed how the now derailed train rolled over my mech, killing me in the process.

The last one was the laugh of the day for me and my friends and will probably be never forgotten.

A friend and I were playing Worms Armageddon a while back. We were playing in a cavern level. Most of both teams were sandwiched in near the bottom by some terrain. Hard to explain in text, but that's less important. The important thing is that I'm pretty reckless when I play a game like worms, where I have crazy amounts of explosives. I tend to sacrifice some teammates for the greater good, if you catch my drift (I PROMISE not to play MWO like that).

I had a banana bomb.

After I used it, there were two worms left...one on my team, one on the other. Everyone else went into the drink or just flat out died.

1.My first time ever playing a video game which happened to be MW: 2 and getting inside the cockpit of a Marauder was amazing! It will forever be engraved in my memory

2.Playing hours on end of Wolfenstein enemy territory (only the demo, not the full game sadly).

3.Worms 2 throwing the holy hand grenade and seeing the ensuing destruction caused by it XD Hallelujah!

4.Heavy Gear 2, it was a burnt copy so the campaign never worked but the instant action was intense and fun to play

5.Starseige, had never played any earth seiges b4 so it was my first and only initiation to the game. However, i'll never forget the cybrid and human campaigns along with the hours spent on (imho) THE BEST multiplayer ever made. (and I can't emphasize how great it was, it was remarkable for it's time).

6.Axis and Allies, using the mighty Red Army to crush all in it's path (and never being able to complete the allied campaign cuz D-Day was so damn hard.

7.Impossible Creatures, being able to create scorpion/tiger hybrids and making them fight against other bizarre and deadly creatures.

8.ATV quad power racing 2(i believe that's the name of the game, we had rented it once at a video store back when i was like 5, but i digress), racing against my brother in my Storm custom ATV

9.NFS 3 Hot pursuit: Using my pursuit Diablo SV to take out my brother or father

10.MidTown Madness 2, using super fast cars and crashing into cops (in free roam mode) to make their wheels fall off

11.Medal of Honor Allied Assault+ SpearHead+Breakthrough (the entire package) one of the best WW 2 campaigns ever, it's what first got me into COD (I was looking for a game similar to MOH and stumbled onto COD)

12.COD:Finest Hour. First ever COD I played and to be honest, the only one I've ever liked. the intro still gives me chills down the spine to this day+The commissar's first speech:

I think I nostalgia'd enough for today XD Great topic OP!

There are many.
1. Freelancer ending. It was firing a massive beam into a nomad city and send them all into a hyper gate which goes to a place unknown.
2. Heavy gear final dual. it can be easy if you load the right stuff.
3. Portal 2. All of the game was awesome.
4. Warcraft 3 frozen throne. all the hours of online maps.
5. All of the mechwarrior games from 2-4merc.
6. Battlefield 2. From running people over to tank busting.
7. Burnout .Enough said
8. Starcraft. The protoss ending with the carrier crashing into the over mind.

This next one will bring back fun times
9. Crash Bandicoot. Just great times failing at times but finaly winning the game.
10.Dungeon Keeper. Very good game to be on the bad side. I think they made a new one named Dungeon
11.Blood bowl. The new one. This is a fav for all the warhammer fans.
And Last but Not lest
12.Heroes of might and magic series from 1-3 and 5-6. Never really liked the 4th one.
