The poor awesome is hardly used since there is little to no real use Stalker better for over all damage and Atlas to tank so i been thinking how to fix the Awesome.

I think if it was the only mech to get doubleheatsinks that work at the full 2.0 and not 1.4 it would greatly help the Awesome and make it a choice to pick over the other assaults.

The Atlas would still take more over all damage and have roughly the same level of firepower.
The Stalker would still have its high damage and a ECM type.
The Awesome would have the best heat efficiency.
The Highlander when added will have jumpjets.

There we now have a clear role for each assault and if it turns out to become to strong maybe give the Awesome a bonus to PPC heat build up.

It might not be the best fix and hell it might make the Awesome to strong for a short time but it would put some on the battlefield even for a short time as never or all most never see them in use.

Awesome just needs the ability to mount a bigger engine and slightly smaller CT,RT and LT. Its main con is that it's easy to shoot.

By raising the Double Heatsink rating to 2 instead of 1.4. You buff all energy dependant designs (Including Stalker), instead of just the Awesome.

Something like this. If you want to buff the Awesome. Work with things that are specific to it.

Edd, he was saying DHS=2.0 only for the Awsome.

Which I don't like.

It would make much simpler to, after they have more mechs in, to do a balance pass using the mech xp skills.

Sorry to say this.

But this is their business model for free to play.

They will introduce better mechs as the game ages.

But they aren't even focusing on critical bugs. They are more worried about making stuff to make money.

We know the size will not be changed at all given how the Cent is not going to be made smaller so thats not even worth trying to ask for.

A bigger engine is not going to help much given as the Awesome is more fire support than up close so the speed is not a big deal for it.

I do think allowing the Awesome to get the full 2.0 for DH would make it used just allowing a bigger engine would not and we know its size will not be changed.

As a regular AWS user i somehow like that you are slow as a mole and cannot run from anything, but would totally agree on improving heat "control". There is also the other option of increasing the heat capacity per heatsink (not engine heatsink) instead of dissipation. Maybe even making a twist; increase its heat dissipation but lower the max capacity (that would be harder to exploit with alpha strikes).

Devs are light/mediummech-lovers, and they have advantage over heavies by DHS 1.4 instead of 2.0
So you are wasting your time by suggesting something that will never happen.

It can not hurt to ask if nothing more it might make some one come up with a better way to make the Awesome worth using over the Atlas or Stalker.

I think if nothing more it should be looked in to maybe not give it the full 2.0 but maybe 1.7 so its better heat wise than the other assaults as if nothing is done you are all most never going to see it on the field.

I all most never see the Awesome any more last week i think i have seen 3 maybe 4 i see all others on the field far more even Commandos and Cents and its such a nice mech i must add i sold mine long ago to grab a Stalker since it was just better.

QFT.

Edit:
In CB I made an ignored thread about giving each chassis some kind of basis modifier to resemple the role.
Awesome for example had 4 weightless HS already build into the chassis or the Hunchback had a slightly faster recycle rate for Autocannons where a Catapult a slightly faster recylce rate for missiles... To give each chassis more character, to get away from the BT-legacy-of-BS of every mech is the same and it's just about the tonnage. At least we have different weapon slots in MWO.

Actually, being able to mount huge engines is what made the awesome FOTM back in closed beta.

That was only due to the lag shield with out that the Awesome with an XL is just going to die stupidly fast you can all ready see the effect the fix has had on lights.

If you run an XL Awesome now you are just going to be easier to kill than with out one you are all ready a giant walking headshot waiting to happen but you load an XL and the side torso are that large you are just going to die faster.
