No purchasing clan tech with c-bills, only MC. Would PGI get rich quick or would MWO die a slow death?

I think there are a lot of players that would go ahead and shell out the cash to get an advantage like that.

I'd quit immediately. No pay-2-win.

I think that is the definition of Pay 2 Win. Of all the options for Clan tech, i think this will be the least likely.

They've already said that there is absolutely no chance of clan tech being MC only in one of the Ask-
A-Devs, and will be accessible for free like the current stuff.

yeah that is way to much Pay2Win for sure, As for clan mechs I hope they do 12v10 3 lances vs 2 stars for those that don't get it.

No IS mech should be able to use clan tech ever in the early 3050 phase, I am sure this is wrong but I wanna say its 3053 when IS gets all forms of clan tech but still with minor differences,

30+$ a clan mech? And paying is the only way to use them? Yeah, I'd be done that would be so P2W it would be ridiculous.

There is no Clans, it's only a myth and wild speculation from some drunken merchant men.
The Clans do not exist.

Its only pay to win if you get a significant advantage out of paying. If clan tech is 50% better and clans have to fight 5v8 then thats not necessarily a significant advantage.

Only if Inner Sphere were sperated from Clans.
Of course I would not buy any Clan mechs, but I think tech introduced after 3025 is evil anyway.

I'm not sure it would be 50% better, I guess it depends on how they implement and what they implement. But it would give some advantage for sure.

It might work if Clan tech was limited to Clan-on-Clan matches. Though further splitting the matchmaker population would make it harder to find games, and given how many people love the Clans, asking people to pay MC for the privilege of playing them is not going to be popular. To put it mildly.

Equipping an MC-only Clantech LRM-20 with no minimum range and doing PuG drops? No. This is obviously a horrible idea.

I don't expect to see this happen, but it's important to keep in mind they once adamantly said the same thing about selling unique mechs for mc only too. They not only did it, they silently removed a variant similar to the first "Hero" mech and admitted it was done to encourage sales.

this is legit the best thing they could do with clantech. just make it so you can't repair it with cbills and they're set. also keep it out of the 8-man queue.

Im sure there will be 4-8 free clan mechs. But most of them will probably cost MC. Thatd be my guess.

Well I was basing it on tabletop. The 5v8 rule holds up in tabletop because clan tech is usually considered to be about 50% better. So a 65-70 ton clan mech like a Loki or a Thor is roughly considered equal to an Atlas.

Since all the weapon stats are basically pulled from tabletop... we can assume clan tech will still be about 50% better. However some of the range advantage of clan weapons might not matter as much in MWO though due to the fact you can't even see as far a lot of the clan weapons are capable of shooting. 800m-1000m is about the best range you can hope for with thermal under ideal conditions. Whereas a Clan UAC/2 should be able to shoot upto 2400m.
