While most leagues have weight limits or even weight class limits, this one will have cbill limits. Fight over planets, defend against the invading clans, hire mercenaries, or even raid as pirates. Comes with a complete mech bay for your unit to field.
What's cool is the leader boards are different for factions, mercs, etc. Factions try to gain planets by hiring mercs with their excess c-bills due to limited available pilots. Mercenaries try to make loyal clients by winning for their faction(s) as much as possible. Clans try to get as many honorable kills (non-base cap) as possible while capturing planets. Pirates raid factions' and clans' resources in conquest mode for cbills and mechs. Rare planets have extra conditions due to harsh atmosphere (no ecm, no streaks, tonnage limits, etc.).
Clans can take bondsmen, mechs can be salvaged, and many will die as a few rise to the top.
I might be over-ambitious, but what do you think?
EDIT: Here are the initial starting items for each unit type. Still thinking about these numbers and open to suggestions. You need 8 pilots to attack/defend. The average (well-rounded) drop deck costs 45M cbills.
