In any case, do you realize that some of the meanest, fiercest Japanese Sumo Wrestlers took on names like Flower, and Rosebud?
It was a psychological tactic used to confuse the enemy, and encourage the enemy to underestimate the strength and fighting ability of his opponent.
Except for the part where if you were named Rosebud it was not likely you would be underestimating someone named Daisy.

I'm glad to finally see a Hero 'Mech with a female pilot, and that we've gone back to picking Hero 'Mechs from the ranks canon (Not that I don't like Fang and Flame).
I am concerned that our Hero 'Mech release rate may be too high. I mean, I haven't even basic'd out my Death's Knell yet.

I don't see this as a problem unless the guy who's modelling the new weapons on the hero mechs is the same for the new mechs.

PGI needs to realize that yes, some people will pay this price no matter what you give them, to really earn a large profit you have to set the price to attract the rest of us who refuse to pay $20 for 1 frigin mech.
Edited for spelling mistakes. I always notice them AFTER I hit post

What I'm saying is, I'm suffering hero-mech fatigue. If they continue the current release rate, PGI runs the risk of making Hero 'Mechs feel like part of the churn of the game.
That said, I'm not at all displeased with the number of Founder/Hero 'Mechs I see in matches. I generally see one in every other match. That rate works for me.

At half of their current prices I'd buy it, and probably also would have also bought an Ilya. 3000 MC ($12) is vastly more reasonable. There's even a chance I'd have bought a Fang or a Flame or maybe even a Wang at those rates. But as it stands I've yet to buy any items with MC and probably won't. I only spend MC on Mech bays, and a 1-time xp exchange so that I wouldn't have to grind two lousy Ravens in order to master the 3L.

So your the "Expert" that declares when a game is Beta or Not? Wondered who that person was.
Yes, they are charging money. That is the New Wave in game making. Nothing wrong with it, they aren't forcing you to spend anything to play the game. So sick of people like you who play a Beta then whine because it doesn't meet YOUR expectations. That doesn't mean I don't have issues with MWO right now but until the Devs declare its Released, which means the game is where THEY feel it should be to be a complete game, then it is Beta. All you forums trolls can't change the fact that the game is in development, hence, NOT COMPLETE, STILL NEEDS WORK, AKA BETA!

So you're saying that pretty much all MMOs and games like LoL, WoT, et cetera, are all still in beta even years after their launch, and will continue to be a beta until they are shut down and no longer having features and content added or bug fixes done to them?

Do you think it would be appropriate for players to send in support tickets with "best offers" of what they would pay for something? If you had 100 people doing that, I bet it would do a lot for their data gathering.
I'll second Vinson. PGI I'll give you 2500 MC for Pretty Baby, because I'm slighty interested in it -- a fast assault with a mix of energy and missile weapons.
Nice idea but when support replies "Done and well bargained" you ARE going to have to put your money where your mouth is you realise?

My feeling is that if people don't like the "Paid alpha/beta" Games, they should blame stupidly successful ones like minecraft.
Mechwarrior online is in open beta. Buying things with real cash -NOW- is effectively equivalent to pre-purchasing the average triple-A title
The difference? Rather than have to wait another several months, you can play now, completely for free should you choose, and watch (And even help) the game develop.
Complain all you want, but this is a freakin' beta. I plonked down the money for Legend status, i've bought MC (And a couple shiny hero mechs, i love my ILYM/TDK/FLM) and i've played a fair amount of matches. Yeah, i'll complain or bring things to the devs attention, but y'know what?
I Deal, it's a beta, i've been in far worse betas before, i do game design, i'm bloody well used to finding bugs and thinking of ways to fix them (Let alone finding ways to fix balance issues)
Either sit down, shut up, play some games and give some constructive feedback. Or go off to another game and complain about it. If you can't understand the basic model of game development, you probably shouldn't be in the beta for a F2P game. (Game development takes time, patience, money, a ton of skill, money, and patience. Did i mention time and money?)
