Not sure how many people on the forums would be interested in this but it popped up as a google notification for me today in regards to Battletech. This is a kickstarted to help Ironwind Metals (the people that make Battletech's pewter miniatures for the tabletop) with the 3-D printing of WOB Spectral LAM miniatures. There goal is to raise 25k in order to put them on the market. It has been quite a long time since we have seen LAM miniatures in production due to the copyright issues that Catalyst has had with it. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to the tabletop and get your hands on some mini's that will be quite unique. Here is the link for the kickstarter.

Well, that, and the period in which you can use said LAMs is VERY limited. Kinda like the Omega. Cool concept, but you can use it from like 3077-3078.

The Land-Air 'Mech is a "jack of all trades and master of none", and became relegated to small highly-specific niches. The versatility of the LAM found a place in all SLDF divisions, most notably the League's Striker regiments, where they were typically used as special forces to strike behind enemy lines or disrupt supply lines. The Free Worlds League would possess the second largest number of LAMs by 2750 and created full battalions for fast-strike and rapid-response uses. The other Great Houses used LAMs as scouts, utilizing their mobility to enter and leave difficult access locations before being spotted.
They can also be used in the Pre-Clan Invasion area. I would advise have very good pilots or they are useless.
LAMs like every othe Mech has its uses. Most player use them incorrectly.

No, I meant the WoB lams are limited in their time period.

The LAMs maybe limited in start date but given the massive scale WoB seemed to pull the Grand Army out of no where there must be hundreds of them. Plus repair parts. LAMs break easy so most of them would be shattered in odd places around battlefields. The Republic idea of melting down all military hardware is anti succession war. 300 years of hiding and fixing broken mechs will not stop because some important person tells them to destroy it. You bury it.

Ya, I'll donate to it soon myself at a point, I don't mind givin' even obscure stuffs like LAM's a chance. Besides, ya can think up scenarios for at least post Jihad for why/how someone's usin' those mechs. Like said above, hidin' and burying stuff ^^

Staying away from kickstarter, cost me a whole load of money before Christmas. And LAMs are just silly unless your're playing Macross/Robotech.
