So my friend and I were dropping into a match, and my friend was tabbed out of the game. The match starts, and my friend tabs back in, but in doing so he accidentally the whole back of an Atlas. The atlas turns around, and, fearing for our lives, we quickly stutter out our sorries in an attempt to not face immediate atomization. We expected expletives and missiles. Instead:

Atlas: YOU
Atlas: WILL BE MY MEAT SHIELDS.
Atlas: LETS DO THIS.

And we did. An Atlas was escorted by a Dragon and a Centurion that day, and the enemy team shed many tears. It was glorious.

I don't know what the moral of this story is. Maybe try to be a more awesome person to the people who scratch you. Maybe try to turn an accident into better teamwork. It sure as hell worked for us.

Positive story pilot, it's good to see everyone take the right approach to a nasty case of dumbfire.

some people dont bother to apologize.
how can i accept what is not offered.

the moral i see is, man up and say sorry, cause i dont see enough of it.

sounds better than telling them to wait for space before test firing... which is what i usually say.

must give up awesome and pilot an atlas to be awesome.

Wow,

that's the best reaction to an accidental friendly fire. Next time someone shoot at a team member, say sorry and offer him fellowship for the rest of the game .

I got a good laugh out of this. Can totally picture an Atlas Pointing at each mech and shouting in a deep booming voice. Then turning around with the Cent, and Drag in tow and charging over a hill with LETS DO THIS! Someone needs to turn that whole situation into a comic strip.

Nice anecdote. I think I'll try to be more understanding the next time someone FF's me at the start instead of just wanting to rant or trying to get away from them.

I love it!

Now... hopefully your friend still learned his lesson and will remember Alt-Tab out means Alt-Tab back in.

With either or both Mechs strapped to the Atlas's back Papoose style!

LIES! matches are won by the sweat and hard work of a lone elite pilot who has telepathic non-noobs on his side. At least that is what listening to the rants of dead pilots while PUGging leads me to believe.

The Atlas should have TK'ed you at the very end of the match, right before it ended.
