Well when no one takes a single scout and your the only mech doing more than 65kms, my cat does 83, someone has to see where there coming from, and i looked for 1 second before the catrpaht was abel to hit my ear with 2 ppc's.
i literally walked up, my head opoped over, i was already reversing as i hit hard brak to stop and bam, 40 points worth of armour off the ear and yellow crit, then a spider with 2 2 medium strafes, takes it off as i try to predict where he was gonna land and aplha that spot

Basically you popped up and several mechs focus fired you because you were the only target. Instead the correct option on frozen city, in that situation is to push the 7 line to your far right preferably with your team where there are buildings all over the place. Regardless of whether or not you see the enemy, when you do encounter them, its at close quarters. If you dont encounter the enemy then you probably passed them which is even better. Hook around and flank while they are unaware for some easy kills. Under no circumstance are you the fill in scout.

Throw your missile bay doors up in the air and wave them like, "Hey! Over here! Shoot me!". I see that and I start shooting from 450 meters out and stay back even if I can't see it's exact loadout because of jamming. Heck, I'll even do that with C4s. Most of the time open bay doors mean SRM 6s or Streaks.

Maybe use a build that is less dependent on those ears? Once people see you are a splat cat, it's the easiest way to disable you from participating in combat and I've often seen and written myself in group chat "C SRM cata" and after about 20s both ears were history.

If I'm driving anything that has ranged weapons, Splatcats and Stalkers are always my primary focus.
On a related note, I also like to strip off the ears and then leg them for driving a face-humping POS.

Simple fixes.
1. Keep the bay doors closed until you're in range.
2. Don't peak up over hills while you're at sniping range.
3. Let scouts, scout and splat cats, spalt.
4. Use the C4 so you can still do something when your ears go boom.
