I did hear a long while ago, that there will be AMS modules coming... and they are needed unless they tweek the damage/hp for AMS vs SRMs (its fine vs LRMs).

Unless those modules manage to duodecuple (or more) the damage output of the AMS vs SRMs (perhaps in exchange for higher ammo consumption) they're going to be various shades of meh.
If they manage that, a single AMS is going to take down a significant portion of an SRMcat's volley (approximately 58%) trending downward significantly to spitting distance (which SRMcats love anyway). Anything with less of a massed volley is going to be basically shooting blanks. I'd buy that module for 4 million+...
(BTW Dduodecuple means "times 12")

Standing still, At 180m a single AMS will shoot down 1.8 SSRM missiles.
Running away from source will probably intercept both at that range.
Anything less than 100m will be hard pressed to intercept any SSRM.
AMS range is 200m.
AMS 2 damage / sec
SSRM 1 hitpoints
SSRM SPEED 200m/sec

Dear Thomas, this is, of course, entirely true. However, in a battle with two fast scouts involved, say, a Jenner of any variety versus a Raven 3L, the Jenner must needs to run at max speed, unable to return fire just to prevent being hit by ALL the SSRMs closing in on her. Some will still come home, not to forget the2-3 medium lasers at the Raven's disposal. This means, the Jenner pilot must zig and zag and evade, which in turn means, she will NEVER be able to put enough space between her own and the hostile mech to make the AMS an efficient means of defense.
The only chance for thenon-ECM mech is to close in fast, get on the Raven's/Trollmando's six and stay there long enough to chew her way through the back armour. Oh, and multiple Ravens are called a "murder" for a reason...
Short: A Jenner's or other non-ECM scout's only option is to engage, cripple and then disengage. Evasive maneuvers are not possible.

I have AMS on my HBK-4sp and so far protection at close range is nearly non existing.....against LRM....well its give you 1-2s more to hide behind somthing when big salvo is on you.
I remember cuting out whole salvo when some AMS mates stand close each other......but for SRM and SSRMs.....meh.

Murder is a group of crows. Crow =/= Raven.

A group of Ravens is called a "conspiracy" or an "unkindness."
Not sure which applies better.

Nope AMS is broken when it comes to SRMs since it has a 200 meter range. So if a SRM is shot at you from 270m max range it kicks in after 200m it does nothing. I mentioned it before and the dev. team has blown it off because there lazy and don't want to fix it.
Saying things like it cant track the missiles at that close a range. The thing is its the most simple fix for both the LRM and SRM and streak issues yet the Dev. team likes to do nothing about it.

Suggestion:
Extend AMS range to 270m.
I dream fanciful dreams...
