Yes, that is right folks. I, in a fit of madness have made the UrbanSpider.

What is this UrbanSpider you ask?

IT IS THE CULMINATION OF THE URBANMECH AND THE SPIDER!

Cruising at a cool 50 some odd Kilometres per hour it carries one Autocannon 10 with 2 tons of ammo. This baby packs 4 jumpjets allowing it roughly 50 some odd metres of jumping distance. If the autocannon didn't push you away there is also one small laser.

Cheap and stupid indeed. Get your UrbanSpider today!

And from the perspective of the mech firing, the AC round would travel away from him at the same speed as if he were standing still.

Not true. The AC10 round would leave the muzzle with a velocity of 1100 m/s relative to the muzzle. This means that the 1100 m/s is added on to the 50,000 m/s speed of this incredible machine. Light mechs, kiss your lag shield good bye. You have just met instant death!

Of course in actuality, the spider is only going 50 km/h (13.89 m/s) which would increase the AC10 projectile velocity by approximately 1%, which isn't even worth consideration while computing the physics of the game play.

You can also remove 2 tons of ammo, downgrade back to the small laser, and put in an XL 155.

But it just wouldn't be the same....

You can also run another half ton of armor if you drop to a small laser or add another ton of ammo if you drop the ML

I love how the only surefire way to get traffic on a thread is to make a type-o, unit mistake, or grammatical/spelling error in the OP.

As to the spider: I prefer the Raven with an AC/20 myself

If the UrbanSpider were to reach its own AC slug mid-air after firing it from a relative stand still, I guarantee that the Mech and its pilot would have stopped caring or having the capacity to care about the impending impact.

Someone hasn't been studying their Newtonian Mechanics.

Also, I can't help but feel you should have sprung the extra half ton for the standard engine. An Urbanspider isn't an Urbanspider unless the side torso is blown off and the whole thing is useless yet still forced to go on living.

Still, it's close to what I want.
