I don't always pilot a mech.
But when I do, I use an Urbanmech.

You know, I was going to compare the Urbie lovers to MLP lovers, but then I realized MLP lovers are generally even-tempered and polite, and more importantly, don't spread their obsession outside their own thread.

For Urban maps, yes, it excels there, but in the open. Never. . . it's cannon fodder on a grand scale. A perfect target. If the Developers add another Light `Mech, then I say, may it be the Wolfhound. If not that, then either Stinger, Falcon (never seen the light of day in any MW game), or Wasp.

Its a city scrapper / badlands terrain mech. A 30 ton mech with an AC 10 and good armor. if it hits any other mech in its class its scoring internals. If it jumps behind any mech in close quarters odds are it will shred the targets rear armor for internals. And this is just the standard 3025 version. House Liao replaced some of its models with AC 20s instead. Just cause it doesnt scream accross the battle field at 120 miles an hour, firing 3 large clan pulse lasers with double heat sinks and a targeting computer and all that assorted rubbish does not make it a bad mech - its a garrison mech. Or view it like a SPG.

Or deploy in a Hunchback.

Hm, small profile, jets, and a big ballistic hardpoint.

No way it could be hiding behind that hill over there...

Urbies will rule the universe.

I absolutely will have the urbanmech in my mech bay. However this will not happen until I see an urban map. I hope that planets are not decided over single battles though. For instance have the initial invasion flat or hilly land, I would not take urbie. So for actual conquest of planet one would have to fight 2 or three individual matches to get to the capital. The urban area would definitly fit for the urbanmech.
Corporal V you make a good point.

You want me to start pointing out examples inside this *existing* thread? And when you add a poll of whether you like/dislike something, don't be super surprised when people that dislike that thing start showing up. ;)

Chicks dig Urbanechs, and their pilots reap the benefits.

No cuter mech than an Urbanmech.

Is that bad? No because the Urbie will forever have my heart. While anything that starts with OST... can burn.

Wait, are you suggesting that we're invading our own thread? And when have I acted surprised?

Ah but the Urban mech is cheaper than a Hunchback - I dont have access to the mech costs at hand but given the small size of the fusion engine and the gyro the overall cost of the Urbanmech will be far less than a Hunchback. In addition in THIS game I can only assume that the repair costs will tend to be a lot less too if they are based on component costs.
It may be that in a open type battle field you use the Urban mech as a sniper - find whatever terrain that you can and then shoot.
Im not trying to be all fanboyish with the Urbamech here - I know it has faults and pretty big ones at that - but for the job its designed to do its a tenacious defender with a good punch.
And whose to say what missions we will be having to do?

yes.

Might have to drop some armor and the jets, but it's doable.
