More than ever we need a trial only queue.

Yeah, each group of people should be in their own queues. This way we can all wait around for minutes for the system to find a match.

All you'll get then is people crying about queue times, always playing the same people, players who started before queuing in "lower tiered" queues etc etc etc. If you try to please everyone you'll just **** off everyone and go bankrupt in the process.

Yes let’s just take out four mans, I mean if you can’t get seven friends you might as well just never play the game!!! No this is a terrible idea, you are terrible.

I love reading the "The other team comes in lrms and ECM". Da hell. Run ECM then Run LRM's. Most of my crew run neither. Once in a great while I get in my ECM Cicada. Don't want to die by by LRMs do what I do keep cover between you and the enemy until you get close. I was in a premade lance last night and blocked by ECM my guys lost me I ended up fighting a Hunch, Raven and Spider in my Hunch. I blew up. Thats with coms it happens. Were they Premades. I dont know, but what I do know is they used my own tactic against me and although it took a minute they cleaned my clock. Because I run in a primarly Medium lance we usually have great battles. Sometimes they are totally lopsided but not that often. Ive been learning to help our pugs or overall defensive players buy using different movement types that doesnt require much chat its just obvious. However I am one of those that can type relitively fast. Wait for phase three if you blow up a lot after that maybe you should be looking at yourself. By the way my play style requires that I do die quite a bit yet I currently carry a 1.95 kdr (assist mean so much more to me though) with over 1500 games after open beta. Pick your targets and use terrain to your advantage and if you are puggin stay with the main group but for god sakes spread yourself out so you can get a los and help get the kill. Another thing dont tell me playin with one or even two of my buddies carries the game we usually have 150 to 170 tons between us. No lights no assualts.

Or they could just split new players off to only go vs new players... Or use ELO matching to do have new players go against new or bad players.
Just saying.
So.... antisocial scrubs boating LosTech could be paired up with a bunch of complete n00bs in Trial 'Mechs, so we can drive away more n00bs and indoctrinate the rest with the various scrub myths of MWO, including the invincible premade, the invincible Jenner, the invincible cheating LRM, that knockdowns were an exploit, and that anyone who shoots the Raven standing dead still in an open area is an aimbotting haxor?

What we need is a more flexible matchmaking system; besides 8vs8 or (soon) 12vs12, it should be possible to play in 4vs4, 5vs5, 6vs6... You get the idea; solo players can still be called upon fill the gaps and everyone gets to play it snappy.

I would rather remove ignorant topics created for the purpose of spawning trolls.

Especially when said topics points are thwarted for example by reading command chair posts regarding matchmaking implementation.

I totally disagree with the OP. Grouping is part of all multiplayer game experiences. My only issue currently is that 2 4 man sync drops arent matched with mech class in the matchmaker so not only do they get to all be friends, but the other team has a serious class disadvantage.

Maybe not remove 4-mans ... just make for more options. This is beta, so let's test things. What happens if we have different modes? Solo only, 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, and of course 4+Pugv4+Pug ...

queue times would be stupid long.. jsut wait for ELO to work itself out

you don't need to do 300+ damage a match to be useful to your team. And someone doing 100+ or even less than 100 damage a match can be just as useful. You generally have your lighter mechs not doing as much damage as the bigger mech, yet those mech and their pilots are probably the reason your team won a match. Then you have a select few that know how to aim and pick their shots and get 4 to 6 kills most games but never break 300 damage a game. You can pull your weight by doing other things than just showing off your damage output. I have consecutive games where I have 4 or 5 kills yet I only did 200 and at time less than 200 damage total. It's called knowing when and where to shot to do the needed damage for a kill. Higher damage outputs is not a great judging point on who pulls their weight more than the next guy.

We're talking heavy mechs when the team does not make at least 100 damage before they die, who else? the lights that will scout who alone 1-3 assaults in a last Stand against 5-6 enemys who the Rest of Team is dead with under 300 damage ? which are then lost positions and be overrun, if only 1-2 members create over 100 damage, then the team is lost, and no one can then earn 5-6 victories by land critical hit because all the enemies still have their armor , unless you have a 1 shot headshot killer

if no one gets the armor of the enemy, you will no longer have enemies, because then you can not just hit final landing, what? if you need armor degrade in places ... on such players are wondering that you lose ... You want to turn off opponents without themselves making big damage (and I speak here not of medium or lights that have naturally different tasks ) maybe the opponent fall down dead yes, if you ask them? or decimate their own armor ... Morons ... You make my Day Boy

Lost enemies!, without us having to do anything, or you are evil Premade, or witches

I can kill a RVN-3L with less than 60 damage. Want to tell me how doing so will not influence the flow of the game?

That is what he is talking about. You don't have to do 100+ damage to have an influence. Shooting a LRM mech with two AC2s from outside his 1k range and making him back down to where he can't target my team is still having an influence on the battle even though I didn't do a whole lot of damage myself. Headshotting a 6 SRM6 A1 before it gets into range to fire does very little damage but helps my team out a lot.

Stupid threads like this should be locked and removed ASAP. 8man was removed for cry babies. Now 4man is the new boogie man. ELO will be complained about when it comes. Nothing will help crappy players. NOTHING WILL WORK.

The net code fixed the lag shield all the crappy PUG players used. That's why this type of thread has exploded on the forums. When collision comes back the crying will become epic and a new round of stop this or that because I suck at this game will come forth.

erugh, the number of people that act like being able to do 100 damage is the barrier to being useful to the team.

guys guys, if you aren't doing 300+ you probably aren't pulling your weight at all.

If anything should be removed it's the solo droppers.

The smallest units allowed should be lances, stars or level 2s. 4, 5, or 6 mechs. Solo rambos have no place in BattleTech.

Even legendary pilots like Aleksandr Nicolas Natasha Kerensky's, Kells, Jaime Wolf, Victor and Hohiro all went to war with their units. Even the Bounty Hunter had allies.

So no. 4 man group is a lance. Three of those is a company. Ban solo pugs instead, they are not a fundamental part of the Battletech universe like 4 man groups are.

I Totally disagree with your point of view... seriously!

You decleare that playing PUGS vs 4men or 8premade sucks just because in opposite side find a too hard organized team that beat your one.

So you consider this "challange" like a bad experience instead of a "good way to improve or to learn how to play"?

Do you think it's better to have totally unknown group of 8vs8 people where you have pugs going wherever they want without any sense and any plan? Do you prefer just to be "LUCKY" to meet a couple of smart pug that organize during the battle instead of 8 players that spread away like sheeps?

I think most people here missed a big point.

1. This is a SKILL game
2. This is a COOPERATIVE game with your team
3. This is a STRATEGIC game
4. This need planning and a commander direction
5. This is a COMPETITIVE game based on team

What is the sense of the PUGS? Pugs are just the "PROBLEM" of the game, not the FINAL target.

PUGS only exists because the game misses Lobby system to allow people to organize in predefined Match, and PUGS is only a way to do a fast debug of the game for the DEV Team.

NOTHING must be done to improve the PUGS gameplay because they are not the future of Mechwarrior, TEAM and CLANS are the future in League, in Community warfare and in Game clanwar....this is not a game for PUGS because this is not a Tamagochi, this is not Farmville or Pet Society.

....Please...
