More on "know your role"
- Tank brawler: Assaults with med range weapons - these guys go in first and soak damage, support them!
- Flanker: Mediums/Heavies with med/short range weapons (SplatCats, AC20Cats, ect) - wait for the Assaults to go in then circle behind the enemy to hit them in the side or rear. Trick is to do it fast or your Assaults will be taken out by concentrated fire.
- Ranged Support: Direct Fire (Gauss, ACs, PPCs, ect) or In-direct Fire (LRMs) - be aware of terrain, where its best to fire from and where enemy mechs are located.
- Harasser: anything small and fast - you arent expected to do a lot of damage, only to **** of the enemy so they will waste their fire trying to swat a fly rather than on that Brawler/Flanker closing in on them.
- Scout: Fast lights, preferably with ECM - best to run in pairs, because most lights on smart teams will run in packs and Scouts cant scout much if they are dead. Your job is to discover enemy mech movements and target for LRM fire.

my tactic is to say
too team: will tag what i can. so any LRMs keep an eye out. i cant always call em.
then shout to everyone: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAN to strike fear into the hearts of the enemy.
do as much spotting/tagging as poss at 150.2 kph and then run around like a mad man killing what i can while helping team. i'm not afraid to change my ECM so lock ons can be made for all for racking up kills. plus AMS & ECM always help
i know my role and i do it well
people will learn in one way or another
