Mc Cost Calculator

Let me know if it breaks or is missing a feature / data.
Note that since MC costs are not stored in the client game files, it's all updated manually - so don't expect to see data for temporary discounts up there...
Enjoy!

MC exists to obscure the amount of real cash you are actually spending. This demystifys the obfuscation process to give you a plain, straight up price for what you are buying (mouse over the i [info] icon in the total).
Highly recommended!

Changed it to a darker orange background. Note that the bar along the bottom with the total cost in it is the same shade as the orange bar for the active accordion tab... if it looks lighter, it's due to the viewing angle of your monitor (you can always close all the accordion tabs to bring the bottom higher up on the screen if needed).

Definitely worth considering... will have a poke at it.

Great job though. Definitely liked how instead of tryin to do unnecessary calculations to determine the exact cost (which fluctuates so you can't really say exact) you went with the much more useful minimum cost for items.

Done! Hover over any MC costs on the page to see the dollar cost based on your current minimum purchase. It began as a surprisingly simple thing to add, but got more complex when I decided to make it show the dollar cost for quantity-based items (e.g. if you add multiple mech bays, it will give you the dollar cost per bay and the total cost for them).

Oops, have fixed the Cicada's data - thanks! The dollar costs shown when you mouse over a cost are based on the minimum cost needed to buy packs for what you've added at the time, so it fluctuates to show the appropriate cost at the time.

I did consider allowing people to specify a pack to purchase but I think I prefer it automatically determining the minimum purchase pack.
If people really want to see how much an item costs if they were buying a larger pack, they can just add items until the minimum purchase is the pack they want (at which point the prices shown for each item when hovering over the MC cost will be based on that pack).

I *think* I've gotten the timestamps correct for the discounts - It should show the date/time that the discount ends in the tooltip next to the item in your local time. Perhaps someone in PST could confirm that the camo stuff is listed as ending on 12/02/13 10:00?
Not sure on the exact expiry time for the new cockpit items, so I've set it to what should be 05/03/13 00:00 PST...

I can see how that might be useful to some people, but I'm not sure that the effort:valueadded ratio is good enough to add it at this point (work is getting busy, so not much time to poke around on projects). Price lists such as this one can give you that information.

Brilliant, good job.
Really does put the cost of this game into perspective, very helpful to know cost of items against packages.
My only concern.
Players finding out the costs this easily may put new customers off. But thats not your fault, be interesting to see what happens.

Heh, true... But given that, I think I'd feel worse taking the site down so that people are less informed with their money than I would keeping it up and potentially causing a few lost sales
It's been said many times before, but the cost of mechs is just way too high. Buying a pair of mechs costs the same as a new AAA game... I think they're missing the point of MICROtransactions
