I have said it before and I will say it again: I cap to win and to p1ss people off. All the QQ threads including this one prove that it is working extremely well. :P

Also when you RTB your BACK ARMOR is exposed to the Enemies so you may get easily picked off and may not even make it back.

That's just bad piloting. if/when I RTB i never show the enemy my tender rear armor.

When a Enemy light temporarily attacks it.It pays 25 K CBs Regardless for Win,Lose or Draw now

THE ONLY REASON THE ENEMY TEAM DOES IT IS TO SPLIT UP YOUR TEAM SO THE CAN OVERRUN AND CONQUER ,tHEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CAP IN ASSAULT MODE ITS A FAKE.(sorrry about the caps but it needed to happen)

Yet I see people still falling for it and they do not listen. The ONLY and do mean the ONLY Way that it works is if the WHOLE TEAM falls back to Defend so it takes away from potential kills that the enemy Team can get,but by doing so you may have given up a good Strategic Position your Team may have had.

DO NOT FALL FOR IT ,PLEASE.If Enemy team wants win that way at least you probably wont loose Teammates and will still get the same CBs (although they get some minor EXP for the Cap win) but so be it

Why do people who realize the whole team should go back to take down a few enemy mechs to get a numerical superiority refuse to go back when their team mates go back then complain on the forums about it?

My favorite strategy while piloting a light or fast medium is to go for the cap but wait at the base until the sides are lined up and in position. I then start capping and publicly *STATE* this to the other team several times via the global chat. I typically see 3-4 mechs break off and come back to deal with me and I just move them as far from the fight as possible. Absent some truly abysmal PUG teammates, I know that my buddies have just won the brawl. One quick death later I spectate and call targets until these "base saviors" are all finished off.

No repair and rearm makes this sacrifice play viable all day long!

I'm playing mostly atlas, often the DC variant with ECM and streak srm. With that build i can take out 1-2, seldom 3 lights (with suffering heavy damage of course). Actually i prefer that fast mechs go back to base - but they might not able to handle it. So if i don't see anyone moving back (and telling the team so), i move back. I'm reasonable fast for an atlas (60kph) - at least fast enough to get back in time before cap is over. Secondary, as assault i can stand on base for a much longer time and even kill one or two enemies thus preventing capturing - at least giving my team some time to come back.

Sometimes it works - sometimes not. But i noticed, that when ecm moves back, most people at least notice and will even follow.

Also sometimes i cap for fun with assault - most times the enemy sends back only 1-2 lights and they will be killed fast (especially commandos are my favorite with streaks). In such cases a single assault can turn a game from a loss to a win.

This thread brings up an excellent point.

It seems like the best way to counter somebody capping your base is for your light 'mechs to all rush the enemy base themselves and hope that's enough
