I think this poll would be much better if you asked more specific topics. As too many of those maps are too similar in nature that it would make it too hard for the devs to pick an easy winner.

What general setting do you like? (Asteroid, Underground, Space, etc)

What Temperature do you like (Hot, Cold, Temperate, Mixed, extremes)

Like what terrain do you like? (Mountain, Lakes, Cliffs, Badlands)

What Weather do you like? (Stormy, Fog, Clear, rain, Acid rain(dmg), Volcanic ash)

What type of features do you like(City, Lost bases, Drop ships, Towers, Suburban, Lone buildings, etc)

What day/night cycle do you perfer (Day/Night/Evening(dusk)/Sunrise)?

Other types of questions as well, this would allow then allow the developers to better determine what types of maps the user base is looking for.

I could of asked a series of questions, but I feel having map concepts with images helps explain the atmosphere better. A picture is worth a thousand words. :)

After seeing all the maps and concept how about All The Above. They are all great and if we want this to have something interesting eye candy well? Only one is take that star trek building out of the stream forest. They all should be in the game, over time.

I agree. Those concepts are so good I can't actually single out five of them as best.

I love 'em all, but I still picked my favorites. (Honestly, so long as they aren't near-monochrome like Caustic Valley, I'm fine with it; Caustic just looks like puke to me.)
The only one I think has no chance of making into the game is Ancient City.

Which really sucks, because I would love that. The issue is that there are no other canonical species besides humans in known, accessible space. I know that PGI has ignored canon for small things, like making their own hero mechs, but I think this would be such a huge jump for them that it wouldn't happen. (No matter how much we want it to.)

Gah! My choices were reset. As awesome as it would be underwater maps actually hurt many 'Mechs. Ballistics do not function underwater, jump jets do not work, and an armor breach destroys the corresponding section. There are also no Streak SRT's.

Thank you. I hope this thread gives PGI some ideas about possible new maps concepts.

Also important to remember that a zero-atmosphere environment in sunlight would not be "very cold" as far as a Mech was concerned. It would actually be "very hot" because there's no air to dissipate heat. It'd be Tourmaline/Caustic times three.

Since when has Battletech (or Mechwarrior) been about Actual Science? Moon maps have always been "very cold."

Last two maps has been a bit boring, colorwise at least. Come on, sky is not the limit here. You can go way, way beyond that. On an icy world you can have freezing temperatures that slows your joints and with patches of blue, pink, red or orange ice/snow. GO WILD PGI!!!

If they bring only half of those into MWO,this game will have the best map selection in any multiplayer game EVER.The concepts are simply phenomenal.Would love to see Nuclear Wasteland and Deep Caverns rather soon. :D

Make it happen PGI. :(

Could have a mix of both. If you are in the shade you would have supercold. Once you enter direct starlight then the temps would skyrocket.

Which would be exactly like Mechwarrior Living Legends' Extremity map.
You would run superhot during day time and had to be very cautious of your heat-generating weapons, while you'd freeze in the night, with everything being dark and the cockpit windows getting a frozen effect.
It even had rivers that froze in the night.

What about floating cities (this one's from Venus - used when the ground is too unstable):

Posted Image

Star League forts (massive millitary fort... nuff said):

Posted Image

Coves (one side comes from the sea, obviously):

Posted Image

Dropzones (a landscape with many fires and battle all around during night, while mechwarriors meet somehwere in the middle of it all):

I want a large fun-park map. Largely flat but with really distinct landmarks, like a fairy-tale castle and a Dinky the Dinosaur statue. It might end up resembling a mech-sized putt-putt golf course though. Which is alright.

Of these, Cove would probably be my favourite. The floating city would be a nightmare for anything with out jumpjets, but it would be EPIC.
