That will require the teams to adopt to the map during the battle.
The current premade maps are nice but somehow that fight develop always in one three possible options for each maps.
and that is sometime frustrating if you can see that at the beginning of the fight how it gone end if people did their first steps.
So both things are interesting.

Theme 2 : cozy ambient

redwood
tropical
Theme 3 : extreme weather
underwater
nuclear
event horizon

PGI mentioned that randomly generated maps suffer quality. It takes alot of effort to make a solid map.

Then what about random spawn points, instead of just all being clustered at a base? ...Granted, that'd only really work if there were no bases to capture on that map, but...

Sure no doubt about that.
Do you played MBT3025 from EA back in 2000/2001 or so
Those maps have been random, but yes those maps have not been as cool as the "Canyon Network".
Alpine Peaks isnt that far off from what the maps have been MBT3025.
To sum this up:
Ramdom maps are ATM whisfull thinking but still a nice thing to long for

Those pictures are all very beautiful! I'd really like to see them all realized in some form.
