Metropolis by far. I have a thing for hiding behind buildings and fighting at close range.

River City is currently my favorite map, but as it is, it is still too wide open for my liking. You can fire gauss and light AC rounds from one base to the other, and it is trivial to fire LRMs from the spaceport or upper city to any point within range.

Just need my favorite toys to take advantage of the brawling...

i want the one where i'm least likely to get stuck on some little geometry that someone thought looked soooooo cool but instead serves only to clip me into the map

Gotta say, the idea of a low-gravity map intrigues me, then again I love jumpjets, even gimped as they currently are.

I too look forward to ***** shooting as someone foolishly launches their highlander or catapult into the air.

(Ok, I give up. Why is s.keet censored?)

Hey, great idea and great Poll!

If I may make a suggestion though, change the poll to multiple select, that way we can get an average of the most desired map types without pidgeon-holing each voter to a single map.

Otherwise, thanks for the great contribution!

Updated Poll. Now you can choose multiple maps! Thanks.

There are ways to use it well, even in combat, it just requires some inventive thinking.

I vote for ALL of them, even Mars as long as we don't get our foot actuators hung up in Martian doody piles.

Fantastic thread and I like the range of map ideas. Honestly it would be awesome to have all of them but I guess we can't be greedy .. or can we?

Bottom line, I hope they introduce different map mechanics like gravity, moveable objects (e.g. platforms), etc and stay away from those maps that have two shades of color! (MOAR color please!)

Wow, I would love to see all of these in game! We are in dire need of some new stomping grounds. More maps ahead of any other content says I.

Loved it in MW2, hope it is feasible with the netcode. :)

Need something like a mech salvage yard/foundry added. ^^

I voted for Badlands. There are enough dark, brown and low visibility maps already. Forest colony winter is the only bright one today. I want a map with much brightness, high visibility and blue skies.

All of these sound great, but I voted for the Deep Cavern. It's an intriguing concept that has a lot of room for creativity and depth.

For example, the lighting could change as you move away from the mouth of the cave. Deeper in the cave, you could create chambers filled with bio luminescent life making night vision useless there.

Water is often a big part of a cave system, and you could create small streams, waterfalls, and even submerged passageways.

Smaller Stalagmites and Stalactites could be destructible in the way that trees will be on the surface. Larger ones can act as islands of cover or perhaps block taller mechs from pursuit.
