i have noticed while spectating that alot of players are firing LRMs with lock but at ranges below 180m and above 1000m
i was just thinking about the descriptions in the mech bay or lack of them such an effort is being made at the moment to attract and keep new players that maybe this should be looked at
just a thought loving the game

The new mechlab shown in one of the Dev's twitter accounts shows that they will be including all weapon data in the mechlab.

The in game HUD hightlights weapons green when they're in range (based on where your reticule is pointing), although I do imagine a fair few new players wouldn't notice or grasp what it means.

yeah it just seems watching there actions that they have no knowledge of how the weapons work and if that is the case they will lose interest fast and its hard to find out using only in game chat

this looks much better info on damage and max min range better than having to use a third party site

I'll confess to sometimes firing LRMs at close range. However this is usually accidental rather than purposeful. I have a six button mouse and very large hands. (Hey, when you're 6'5" it's hard to help it if larger but more affordable gaming mice are still kind of tiny). Sometimes I'll hit my left-2, left-3 buttons when spamming chain-fired weapons on the left-1 button, resulting in my LRMs or other spam-worthy weapons to fire when not intended.

But yes, there are players out there who really don't know. It's on my tutorial list. Though given upcoming changes I decided to prioritize showcasing the Hunchback Chassis and its variants for new players, followed by the Centurions, and eventually others as they come up. http://mwomercs.com/...newcomer-input/ <--Topic list. Any ideas to add to the pool, please throw them in.

In the mean time if you're looking at this and need to know the info: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/ <--Go there for all the intel you need. Data's taken directly from the game with the patches, far as I'm aware.

Pumpin' the footage out as fast as I can -- at the moment I'm waiting for Zhizhu group members to give input / suggestions that new players could use on how to use the variants of the Hunchback, as well as the female voice to record her lines. As women are generally sexier to listen to than me. ^_^
