Yeah, no doubt. It's been a I-hate-this-game-wanna-ragequit-but-turn-it-off-and-cool-down-okay-feeling-better-now sort of a night. And then I chant "don't post angry, don't post angry...."
Man, when the game is good, it's really really great.
But when it's not.........whew.......exhale......calm thoughts.......

Some DDC and a couple of old crows have been seen feasting on their mangled husks.

i also doubt sync drops happen anywhere near as often as people think. it's really not that hard to blob together and shoot at what other people are shooting with only one 4man on the team, just depends on what kind of pugs are there.
rather than sync drops being the new flavor of pug stomping, i think sync drops are the new flavor of scapegoat for being bad.
not to mention, i'd say every ~15 drops or so you get a team with two premades, non sync dropped, that get put together by the matchmaker.

I was running small groups tonight observing the performance of a new recruit since we didn't have enough online for 8-man drops. Ending up with another group on our team by chance was happening maybe 1 out of 5 drops. We were able to verify the presence of another group when I would make a comment like "4 on TS going cave" and would get a reply stating that another group of 4 was on the team.
It appeared that at least some of these matches also had at least a single 4-man group on the enemy team as we recognized the same group of 4 on the enemy team a few times and they seemed to be working together better than a pure pug team would be doing.

Not really, our unit for one has pretty much stopped playing the game with the exception of myself and our unit commander. Why might you ask?
ECM and no tonnage/class matching/battle value system in the 8v8. We played 8v8s for about 2 weeks after ECM was introduced and then were sick of 6-8 DDC or 2 3L teams. It's stupid, OP and not Battletech/Mechwarrior in the least. Not even House Steiner fielded that many 100 ton mechs as a norm.
So we started playing 4 man drops and always a few are left by themselves either Lonewolfing or waiting for a team. Even trying to synch drop so we could play with or against each other only works 20-30% of the time. We don't care which, shooting our unit mates is just as fun and provides more of a challenge. That grew old...
So now a unit with several dozen players on the roster struggles to put together even 8 players on practice/scrimmage nights.
I just hope the ECM and round 3 of matchmaking will fix things ASAP before more players continue to quietly leave the game to play elsewhere. You won't see any of them posting as at this point they simply don't think anyone is listening.

Yes. 8 man que was too hard so they ran to the 4 man que. Sadly the pub players got nowhere to run to other than to different games.
Its about time that the devs fix their garbage matchmaker. If Elo don't fix this, the game will probably remain broken forever.

Not hard. It's dead during EU peak times. We basicly need to synchdrop 16 players to get a match going.

Well usually the 4 PUGs are quite thankful to have us aboard.

Crossing my fingers. I'm sick of all those PUGs who simply refuse to work as a team.

This, holy crap this. I know Pugs don't want to believe it, but this happens... A LOT. Running as a 3 or 4 man, Id say its about every 5th match we get paired with a second group. Now I agree, this should not happen unless each side has a group in it, but it does.
As for why there were very few people on last night... Yea, Superbowl. Best times for 8 mans seems to be Tues-Thurs nights, as many units run there skermish and practice on those nights.

Solution to that: Seperate queues. Because in the PUG/Solo Queue you will not get rid of people that are new to the game and thus not yet knowing exactly what to do.

Dont need to seperate the queues (seperate noobs for the first 50 matches instead). Those who refuse to work as a team will have significantly lower ELO rating thus the chance they drop on my side is far far less.

Pretty much. Game is un-puggable from 10pm to 7am central time.
From my obervsation out of europe (I sometimes play that late at night local time) as soon as our prime time is over and NA prime times are in the beginnings you get a lot more 4 mans but also a lot more people new to the game into your random teams, which makes things pretty unbalanced a lot of the time. During our own prime time I have 80% very close matches (8 vs 7, 8 vs 6) and decent players in the random teams.

This is sad.

Mostly when I have a solid premade on my side we will roll over the other side. Its probably good for xp and income but makes for bad games.

Some are new and got no clue. Others are just horrid and got problems with hitting targets. I don't think its that much about refusing to works as a team. Its more about being able to.
This is just as painful for "normal" pub players. I cannot say that I enjoy those matches where we lose but I find my self as number 1 above the enemy team, with my team at the bottom. I had one of those matches yesterday. I did 1k damage (yes I am running a lamer lrm stalker doing the tag myself) and 5 kills. The rest of my team (I guess they was either stoned, drunk, brand new or a horrid mix of all that) had scores like 50 and less in damage. I am not sure what they where doing but it did not work.
Some of those people on my team was founders (WTF?)
But that get even worse when you get a good premade or two as the enemy team. It really make me wonder if this game is worth playing. I find it disturbing that I am often unable to do more than a game or two before I feel the urge to log out.
