You realise all of those were made by the same company using the basically the same game engine...

Dark at night is good, but crappy thermal/night vision make night matches just suck. Quite looking forward to the fix when it comes out, beginning of next month I think.

And they are fixing / changing both to be both less crappy and less overpoweringly necessary. Actual reasons to use, or not use, all vision modes.

The map is fine. Nighttime maps are fine.

The vision modes will get tweaked.

Night maps are added to add variety to the map lineup, and to present a different strategic challenge. The challege, of cours, is that it's hard to see crap.

It's a good idea, they just have issues with the HDR blinding effect and the fact that thermals kind of nullifies the "limited sight" thing.

There's nothing wrong with there being a night map, they just need to fix thermal and night visions and the blackscreen lighting bug.

The "idea" of night maps is to create variety and encourage teams to adapt to whatever environment they drop in. As painful as night maps can be, it's still a fun challenge to outdo the enemy team while they're dealing with the same handicap. It's the exact same concept for a map like Caustic Valley. 'Mechs will build heat much quicker when playing here, and you have to adjust your playstyle accordingly.

If you're looking for bright, open landscapes for every single match, you're playing the wrong game.

I can't wait till they have sensor blackout, high-heat, pitch-black maps where you don't know you have an Atlas in your face until you see your own reflection it its cockpit :P

Being able to, occasionally, say "I don't want to drop on that map" would be a nice feature, though.

Thermal vision. Get used to it. With ECM that's all you'll be using anyway.

Youre going to have issues when they change thermal april 2nd and you cant run in thermal to find your targets. Me, i only use thermal on frozen city blizzard. But then, Im a good pilot...

The purpose of night games is to give the REMFs more elbow room in the O Club during happy hour...
