Limiting the FPS seems to help me as well (a little), but that's a crappy fix.

I run a 144hz monitor and get around 110 FPS in-game. Limiting to 75 is just meh.

*EDIT* Nevermind. Limiting the FPS did not fix it.

  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which? No -- game simple stops mid-action (completely freezes) and game has crashed. Sometimes there's a feedback loop of the last sound heard.
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur? During the action.
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring? Playing the damned match.
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps? Occasionally lol.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch? Didn't change them. What settings do you want to know? Resolution = 1280 x 720 playing on medium settings for the most part. Get 60-100fps typically.

I don't have a log for this, but sometimes while playing I will totally crash. Monitors say "no input", sound is either off or repeating a distorted tone. If I hit the reset button on my computer it will stop the sound and go through the motions of booting up, still with nothing on-screen. If I turn my computer off and on with the power button, it will come back up letting me know that windows shut down unexpectedly, should I continue or boot in safe mode. This mostly happens when I'm in-game, usually when spectating. Luckily I keep my XP and CBills earned during the match.

Since last patch my game crashes mid match about once per hour, sometimes more. Never did this before.... nothing seems to fix it.....

Another evening played freeze free. Not sure if it was the cache folder deletion, the v-sync (60 Hz widescreen HD TV) or a combination of both but I hope it holds up until they fix the problem.

Also have not seen the frozen city texture bug after doing this either.

Since last patch the game sometimes just locks up during matches and I have to use taskmanager to get out of the game.

Looke here: http://mwomercs.com/...r-freeze-frame/

It works. If on an LCD, use Vsync and sys_MaxFPS = 60 (or 30) in user.cfg. It works.

I have been CTD more and more often. Since 2 patches ago. The game just closes to the mech lab. I have reinstalled and put in new video drivers twice now. Even rolled back and still have the problem.

kk, retyping this because last time I hit post my reply disappeared and it dumped to the main forum.

Anyway. I only have issues with this when mechlab tab is left open for extended time. If i mess with loadouts for a long time or just leave it idle for extended time.

One error- black screen flashes with message "display driver quit and recovered" for my nvidea card. Only happens from extended mechlab.
One time it froze up the system and went to blue screen of death. Could not recover the driver that time. that was after a really long mechlab session.

Tonight I left it on that screen while I ate dinner, just to see. Sure enough, first match back in I had like 2FPS. Same for the next 2 matches. Quit entire game, restarted logged in, no more issues.

I see artifacts sometimes on my Phracts, usually yellow vector lines off the geometry of highlighted mech area.

I am no tech. but maybe there is a memory leak in the mechlab? Video memory maybe? Error in those repeating graphical FX?(sparks and lighting fx) or a leak from the render of the mech itself?

I get zero issue all night if I launch from the home page, or even the pilot lab. Just from mechlab.

Hope this helps.

edit: oh I should add, it seems worse if I actually go to the "loadout". the blue screen of death was after a long session of tweeking mechs, swapping out guns and whatnot.
