Pricing is WAY too high. $20 to unlock Phranken (since you're paying 1000 MC for each color AND the scheme)? And that's at 50% off? Even unlocking "white" is $6. Sorry, no way.

It's not 50% off... The camo colors are.

And what did everyone expect? Some colors will be more expensive. You don't need them to play. If you can't afford 1k colors then get 250 mc colors. Get 4 of them for the price of the premium color. Do whatever you want.

But complaining about aesthetic prices in a game where the community would burn PGI to the ground if the 'Pay to Win' mentality was implemented is lame. Get over the fact that not everyone will be able to afford everything.

Wanted to add that the new blue for friendlies works great everywhere except the map. It's rather hard to distinguish friendlies on the map with the new color (the minimap especially).

I LOVE IT.

I just wish getting a new colour didn't cost more than three mech bays. Seems like a lot.

Some people CAN afford it but choose not to pay since it perpetuates the idea that they can and will screw us over.

Whats to say tomorrow they add another row of colors, and in so doing raise the price another 250mc per color but revoke your already paid for colors and only give you only what you paid for the 'old ones'? Are you going to have the same attitude then when you have to shell out another 2-3$ per color to have the EXACT same setup you had yesterday?

I think not.

Extremely disappointed
Why?

For all their talk of hundreds of new colours, they didn't even bother to introduce ONE new basic paint.

Broken paint pricing.
Needs to be half the current price and also an option @10% cost for a single use application of paint.

Wow a camo and paint wipe! How they all cry now when the beta acts like a beta.

Sure hope a couple more basics get added or a few more promo colors become available. Prices are nuts but colors are not a game changer.

As has been said 100+ times in this thread, the cost is way too high. It's like nothing was learned back with Christmas and New Year's. Or maybe the hundreds of responses saying prices were obscene at Christmas while praising the prices at New Year's did not line up with actual sales. Of course, knowing that would be transparency which won't happen.

That said, it does seem like colors are messed up. It's not just the PC Gamer colors. Obsidian Black and PC Gamer black both look like a dark navy blue. I've tried various settings between low and very high with no difference in the mech builder preview.

If I received everything I spent on the initial purchase, while in a Beta, I can't complain. They made things less expensive and more diverse across the board. Yes, there are really expensive color's, but they aren't the only option.

If the game was live and the situation was as it is now, then yes, I would be livid.

$15 or more to unlock skins and paints? For a SINGLE chassis.

Ain't nobody got time for that.

"Sorry sir, we can't paint your mech with this black spraypaint, this is special Jenner spraypaint. You'll need to go and requisition some catapult black spraypaint from command."

Seriously, the money grubbing has got to stop.

Paint is opened once for all chassis. It's only the patterns that you have to buy each time. But you also can use the one-time pattern. Just be conservative and use one pattern for your mech. And you don't usually have tons of mechs you would like to keep and paint.

P.S. One time pattern is ten times (or so) cheaper.

And the fact that I spent REAL money for a SERVICE which was REVOKED and replaced with a more expensive service is what exactly?

Go ahead!

DEFINE IT!

The fact that it is in beta has no standing here.

Not to mention that there was no previous mention of upcoming changes other than 'oh look new skins!' to inform anyone of such theft as I am apt to call it.

Why don't they revoke everyone's founders mechs, change the models, and let you rebuy them for 1.5X the price after refunding you the initial amount? It's the same concept.

I like how you strengthened the colors. Especially the basic and PC Gamer colors. it's a very nice change. I feel the 1 time price for colors is a bit high. My ideal economics for colors would be:

Patterns
500-1000 MC per pattern unlock (i.e. $2.00-4.00). As patterns get older the prices should drop. That or drop the prices on patterns that people don't buy as much.
75-250 MC per individual pattern use (i.e. $.25-1.00), price dependent on demand.

Colors
Basic - These are fine. 1.250 million is a decent number considering it's a one time fee.
Standard - 250 MC, the best way to sell colors is to make them cheap. That way people buy more of them. Selling standard colors for $1.00 is a great start.
Premium - 500 MC. if these are supposed to be better then the standard colors doubling the price shouldn't be a concern.

Except that it costs $3,000 to buy all of the colors. And they can always "invent" more colors (like real white) and charge even more.

I thought PGI understood! MC for colors is crazy I can completely see patterns having an MC tag but colors?! What is going to happen when factions come in? are we all going to be running around in green and pale red? because MC for telling each other apart should not be the case. I think it should be CBills for ALL colors and MC for pattern templates.

I am glad that you refunded the MC and C-bills spent; that was exactly the right thing to do. I am also pleased that colors are now unlocked permanently across all mechs.

I feel that the prices are still somewhat high, though. Any MC value that has four digits is a lot to pay for only one thing that is something as basic as a color.

I'd rather a pattern unlock apply across all chassis. Chances are if I like a pattern, I'm going to like it on any or most mechs.

I'd like to see more patterns like the PC Gamer pattern, where the primary color is the main color and the secondary and tertiary colors are accents.

I would also like to know how many phases there are going to be when it comes to camo; will the next phase be the last and include decals?

What the f*** is up with PGI releasing paint that costs 500-1000 MC?!?!?!??!?!

Im really sorry I have to b**** in here, but if I don't Im liable to leap over the 10' high back fence and punch the next-door neighbour's 18month border collie square in the face.

This is total and utter horse-s***.
They release paint that costs 1000 MC, of which 3 types can be applied to a mech. That's 3000 MC.
A Stalker costs 3000 MC!!!!!!

HOW DOES THAT WORK?

Sure, make people use MC for fancy paint. Fine. That's okay. But, like 100MC TOPS! And for the fancy ones. The rest should be in C-bills.
There is no benefit to game-play if a mech is painted pink, purple, and green. So why in god's name is paint the SAME COST AS A STALKER, and only in MC?!??!!

Poor form PGI.

Wow. Im really close to uninstalling this game.

I'm not sure what color feedback you guys want out of this thread...

If it's about the in-game color changes I really dislike the new blue used for friendly mechs and team chat...it's nearly impossible to read now. It was hard to read before, in some cases, but much better than it is now.

If it's about the new color system for painting mechs, I'd have to say the system is better overall but pricing and execution aren't all that great. Certain parts of the mechs that were previously covered by colors aren't anymore which throws off color schemes somewhat. For instance several parts of each mech are a weird grayish green now that doesn't match with the patterns and colors. Yesterday they looked much better overall.

I plan to buy MC at some point in the very near future, I doubt if the current system holds I would spend any on patterns or colors to be honest though.

Well there goes 3,500 MC on colors that I wanted. The patterns? Not so interesting. I'm getting a lot of mileage out of my PC Gamer pattern.
