Well I sure as hell wasn't gonna spend MC on mechs. So I will probably spend at least 2000 mc on colors. Good show on color selection.

10 or so is a good enough selection for now.

I'd choose the most screaming pink color there is just because I could! :(

I only had two of my mechs painted, specifically because they were "gimmick" mechs. I'd been planning on painting a third when the crazy colors became available.

The colors and patterns are overpriced, and it's actually offensive to me that the paint jobs I had before would cost me substantially more now to get again. No, I do not care that these colors/patterns are permanently unlocked, and splitting patterns between chassis but colors throughout your mechbay is needlessly complicated.

So I had my MC refunded, but it shouldn't cost me SUBSTANTIALLY MORE just to repaint my guys. I agree with the people who said their old paint jobs should've been grandfathered in.

The pricing here is offensive and not at all conducive to the kind of microtransaction/impulse purchases that are supposed to keep this thing afloat.

Finally, PGI is accepting real world money for in-game currency and then basically juggling that in-game currency. You can slap the word "beta" on this thing all you want, but "beta" is just covering their arses at this point. This is a product as it stands right now, and it's a broken one, and PGI's inability to handle other peoples' money with kid gloves bleeds confidence from the product and from the end users. If they're willing to just juggle things like this, what's to stop them from doing it again with something more important later?

I had bought phranken on 3 of my mechs and a couple colours for other mechs, now with this new system I can't even afford to have it (Phranken) on one of them. Yes, I can purchase the patern (single use only) for each different mech with the refund, but I can't afford the colours so I would be stuck with stock colours or maybe 1 or 2 preimum colours if I only buy 1 design. It would seem the only way to get my camo back on all of them is to buy more MC.
I would have thought the "refund" would have atleast been enough for me to buy it back on the mechs that already had it...

I would prefer the colours to be cheaper and the schemes the same or more expensive.

Non basic Colours imo should be about 50 - 75 MC each, just put lots and lots in....like you already have.

The patterns / schemes imo should be 1000 - 3000 MC. depending on complexity or how rare you want them to be.

Even offer a much more expensive version that will apply to that whole class. IE 5000MC+ to buy / unlock the phranken for ALL heavy mechs. etc etc.

Meh, its Free to Play, unless they mean to make it pay to win, they have to earn money somewhere, selling baubles and colours.
If they decide that the best way to make a living is by making someone pay a high price for neon colours, fine by me.

Of course, it MIGHT earn them more money if they have lower prices, enticing more people to spend a few dollars here and there, but I guess that is what they will have sales for. Guess thats what they have economy dudes figuring out as they go along.

The prices seem fair to me. If you are part of a unit, you might spend 3k mc max for your unit colors, and that's optional. Fluff and skins have always been the way good f2p games earn money, and if you don't want to give them some money for making the game, don't buy any.

Still, they never learn.

It's better to sell a lot for less than less for a lot.

Halve the prices of paints (not C-bill) and camo unlocks (not single use) and you hit the sweet spot.

Quick question: When I buy a single use camo pattern, will I be able to change the colors later on without buying the pattern again?

Yes

And once more, the color unlock that color for every variant of every mech for ever. Still, halving those prices would probably end up in bigger sales.

At these prices, my mechs will be staying green for a long, long time. (or black, red, or tan, thanks to PC Gamer)

$2.80 for a premium color? FOR A SINGLE COLOR?
$3.20 for a single camo pattern?
1.2 Million C-bills for a single BASIC color?

I mean, I'm glad PGI decided to do away with the one-shot system and lower prices, but with the current MC costs, this is still way too much for a single color.

Also, NONE of the colors should be MCs. Patterns are one thing, but a color?

Coloring your mech should be something fun you do to express yourself, not a representation of your wallet.

If not Colors and Patterns, what else? Colors, Patterns, Skins if u want are the kind of stuff u earn money with if u try to set up a free to play game. Customisation is the thing u always pay for in a game, that HAS to earn at least some money.

I think the pricing for the not so shiny colours is a bit too much, but if u want ur Mech Titanium White, or take the whole Phranken package, u gotta pay for it. Cause u dont NEED to buy that stuff. U still have the possibility to pay CBills for the Basic colours and use the standard Mech Pattern and paint as much as u like.

The thing most people forget is this. There is no need for colors, they are there cause there are a lot of people (including me) willing to spend at least SOME money on the game they are playing FOR FREE atm.

Look at it this way, I paid over 7500K MC in camospec phase 1 to paint all my mechs premium black and phranken red, now all I have to do is pay 2000MC for the black and red (obsidian black and phranken red) and I can paint all my mechs that's a saving of 5500MC. So I have to disagree here and say that colours are not overpriced at all and I'm more than happy with my new found savings.

Except that it costs $3,000 to buy all of the colors. And they can always "invent" more colors (like real white) and charge even more.

Better get some help about your obsession of having to own all of them, that's not PGI's job. Unless your post was just mindless QQ of course.

As for me, more acceptalbe: 250 MC for dull paints, 500 MC for bright paints (premium by now) and 1000 MC for metalic paints. Some discount for sets of paints (3 colors set or 6 colors set) - it would be desirable.

Camo prices? I'm always choose carefuly color scheme for every mech. And it's permanent choice. So 75 MC for single camo - pretty fair. As for unlock's prices - personaly I don't care, so can't say anything about...
