On a "serious" note - by the Table TOp rules, I believe it simply improved your Initiative. I believe a good Initiiatve in the table top meant you act second (this allows you to outmaneuver the enemy - he carefully places his mechs in a good attack position, then you run behind him or into cover and all his plans are for naught). Obviously that's nothing you could translate into MW:O.

I think the only reasonable benefit I can think of might be that installing a command console could grant you an extra module. That's not what it does now, obviously. So whether it will ever do anything or not remains to be seen.
