I noticed this last night as well. Seemed to crop up when the original owner of the target was behind me.

One of my experiences:

Mech: CN9-AL
Map: Forest Colony Snow
Conditions: Started cave side, move toward the the opposition on the land side. I get a target ping and press R. Target brackets appear, but are not on where the target is. I swing my chassis and torso around to match the location of the brackets. This takes almost a full revolution to achieve. Once the brackets and my cross hairs line up, target is tracked properly.

Likewise, the brackets appear to pop up at previous locations of enemy mechs. Sometimes too, brackets or arrow will appear underground.

I am occasionally getting leftover target arrows/triangles and target bracket box floating in my HUD even as I look completely away from the target or the target has been destroyed.

I actually don't know the correct name for those red and blue triangles hovering above mechs on the HUD, I call them pips...

I encountered this at least twice since the patch:

Sometime in the middle of a wild infight i see myself surrounded by mechs with RED pips...i start shooting at them until after a few seconds the pips turn BLUE...I was teamkilling without knowing it... this is absolutely terrible...it feels like some lag thing, where the correct information to show up takes to long. I think there were enemy mechs in between my own lines, so probably the client simply couldnt assign the right colors fast enough?

had this 2 min ago on crater map...1 K2 was running through our lines, our awesome and others were shown to me as red...so i started to fire (yes, I was in panic, didnt start thinking until the pips turned blue again)... anyway, this bought the K2 enough time to get behind me and finish me off...

anyone else had this experience?

i wish a patch would not create as many new bugs as it fixed...

+1 about once every other match. As a somewhat humorous note, I wandered off into nowhere looking for the phantom mech that I was SURE was RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER.

Of course, I recieved profanity laden chat bombing from a few calling me names, fail, wanting to know what the F I was doing etc etc... blaming me for ruining the match.. ( which we won anyway. lol )

Yeah, I've been running into this too. It's incredibly of annoying to hear the bleep indicating a teammate has targeted an enemy, hitting 'r' to lock to the target, only to have the target and arrow appear in a random place on my screen that doesn't correlate to the enemy at all.

If the enemy is close you can find them on the minimap, but if they're further out there's no surefire way to find them.

I'm seeing this pretty much every drop, not really that big of a deal but still kind of annoying

Still going on. When you're relying on the triangles to pick the targets at 600 meters, very frustrating.
