The total lack of team skills from pugs is appalling.

I'd love to have VoIP for when I run with pugs. Would help them out so much.

These two words usually don't work well together.

People say this and I find it hilarious, because the first thing most of the smart pug players would do is mute this. :D

"The team stomped the pugs."

Working fine for me. You might go as far as to say "Working as intended." :D

I usually have no problem dropping Lone Wolf. There are times that it is just a laugh fest, but that is balanced by the times we have plenty of fun, win or lose, no VOIP required for that.

You just had the bad luck to drop with a poorly coordinated team.

I really tire of this argument that VOIP is required to coordinate a team. It just isn't true.

If $status.grouped -eq $true{set-match "team"} Else {set-match "pug"} Problem solved

Drop with your regulars without teamspeak.

Man I suppose any of us that pug 100% of the time should quit and find a new game since the teams say so. Apparantly MWO is for teams only, if I am to believe some of these posts, and it never has or will be a game for the casual gamer.

Can't we all get along? Does it realy have to be a game only for teams or only for pugs? Why can't it have both?

Yep. Working together doesn't always require speech. I prefer to avoid griefing a lot of the time and will disable voice when playing exclusively with strangers.

Working together is easier though when you can both fight and talk at the same time. Can't do that with text communications. And any sanely implemented VoIP system lets you mute individual players. So that griefer? You can mute him and still hear the rest of the team.

TS doesn't let you chat between groups, and text is too slow to use during combat.

Why don't you share the set-match "team" part of it with the rest of us? :D

Why can't you type and fight, and know what to do? That's how I played pretty much every single game that mattered. We diidn't get voice until years later.

It's been standard since retail counter-strike, yes, but there was a time when you didn't have it, yet people still performed at their A-game level.

You must have misunderstood my post. I don't have any "regulars".

If you meant drop against a premade that uses teamspeak w/o our using teamspeak, I submit our PUG's whipping of Robinson Rangers today.

Teamspeak is a crutch. Didn't need it for NetMech, don't need it now.

Yeah, Because the other side didn't have VOIP either. This is no longer true. It makes a huge difference in reaction time when I don't have to take my hands off of the controls of my mech to try and tell people who likely aren't paying attention something that is probably out of date by the time I hit enter.

Apparently your fingers must be broken. No ability to type A3 3 mechs, Target Alpha, Bravo etc.... It takes almost no effort to coordinate a team through chat - what it takes is a team that will pay attention and at least try to play the game smart.

no it really doesn't. Keep it simple and the time is negligible.
