How can matchmaking find a D-DC Atlas Pilot and another Pilot (without own Mech) willing to drive with him?

I would suggest to the devs that it could be as simple as selecting "command console" in the mech selection screen instead of an actual mech. Then when you hit "launch" the matchmaker will look for a match that has a mech with a command console in it to put you in. Voila. Of course, I would also suggest that the ability to be a Commander is restricted somehow so that only players who have played the game for a while have the option to be a Commander, and players who are brand new to the game don't jump into a command console with no idea what they're doing.

Given what we know of the CC to this point, the use of "module slots" could be a tad restrictive. If we do get Drones, Air Strike and Arty, would each require a module slot be used? If so, that is already 3 consumed before a Pilot can actually take ones useful to the, always probable, combat phase of any CC based Mech.

Add to that, the current cost of modules and extra slots, someone on any Team, would have to make a large sacrifice to equip and then make use of said modules. So in effect, once a Mech is made CC capable, using it or that Pilot for anything else would be a waste. The ability for many Pilots to obtain the required means to become a CC capable pilot should be top priority. With a 3t and 1 crit slot requirement, many of the current fleet of Heavy and Assault Mechs can be made CC capable so specific variants need not apply. ;)

As far as the "detectors" and there deployment method, that will require some thought. Loading up a Scout and sending them out, way out, to plant the "sensors" could prove disastrous if said scout was lost prematurity, or the placing of said "sensors" locally (close in) rather defeats the purpose. Perhaps deployment by Air could be an option witht he loss of the aircraft also a possibility with financial consequences. The enemy had some AC2's on board... :P

This, of course, assumes a vastly increased # of Large Maps to be in play, and that CW be in full go mode.

Perhaps the CC should have many functions and many of those functions be built in. (increased battlegrid functions etc) while having others be of variable cost of use (Drones, air, arty etc)

That way a Team can make decision ahead of time and need only pay for what they think will be of use to them for a given Match, based on some given Contract specs.
