Campaign for e-sports support and start getting involved in team play and tournaments. This could be a really great e-sports game, but Piranha chose not to build it that way from the ground up the way DotA 2 was, and I feel it's missing a lot of features that would keep people interested long-term. All progression eventually ends, we need ladders and regular events (hopefully with prizes) to keep our most valuable players engaged.

The game is still in the early stages right now. MW4 didn't have leagues and competative ladders when it frist came out it took some time. Even if it didn't take long for them to come about, you also need to remember, that MW4 was a finished product when people started playing it.

Voidslinger:

I am the same way with games I love, except that I have no deadline and no end to the goal. Let me illustrate:

In MWO I fell in love with the jenner and it's jump jets. I joined house marik and tried to form my own sub unit. I moved out of house marik and into kaos legion because of their run hot or die reputation. I now have over 400,000 exp on my jenner F and raven 3L. On top of that I have at least 1 variant of each chassis mastered. I have all of the mechs with their own engines including hero mechs and 2 of the important ones so I don't have to wait for them to get out of game. I'm trying to build my twitch fan base. I even tried spying on other units for a bit. I made back up accounts and ground out the essential mechs for them too. I helped friends get through the trial mech grind (before cadet bonus). I've gone on to be a drop commander for Kaos (beat sin 3-1 gg sin!). Now I'm writing a PHP site for a planetary league (eta feb 16th) I hope everyone will enjoy. Hopefully it will tide people over until community warfare. I've tried talking with Paul and Garth to see if I can help without having to move to Canada (I like my current job), but nothing yet.

TL;DR just keep going. There are tons of goals you can go after!

You should probably ascend to a higher plane of mechwarrior.

Congratulations on the achievement, I don't think I'm even a quarter of the way there yet. I don't have that kind of time to sink into this game ;D

I agree. I am working on grinding the Cbills to get the third Atlas to finish a proficiency grind of ONE of each class. I can't imagine getting ALL of the mechs mastered.

Having activated my Beta key relatively late (mid September) I found I was immediately sucked into this game. I quickly found a solid group to play with on TS and have immensely enjoyed the hell out of this game. The most recent patching and communication from PGI has given me hope for the future. I suspect I will need to dial back my hours played fairly soon so I don't burn out, but when CW and other features begin rolling out later in the year I expect to be playing MWO for years to come.

Play the game to play the game instead of playing the game to mindlessly plod towards a hazy sense of accomplishment.

The Great Grind is over.

Just got the Master Module Slot Proficiency for the Hero Awesome.

56 mechs sitting in mechbays.

Each one has been skilled up to and including the Master Module Slot proficiency.

I have all the pilot modules unlocked, and 4 each of most.

Every mech has its own engine.

So my question is:

WHAT DO I DO NOW?

I ask this, simply because I know there should be players out there who have hit this same situation (Tech support was very familiar with the 32 mech master module bug). Do I just save up for the Clans, play a minimal amount to keep skills up?

I like to keep going forward, so I'd like some in game goals.

Getting all the proficiencies and owning all the mechs before my Founder's premium time ran out was my own personal goal. It started as lights and mediums, then I added Dragons, then heavies, and finally bit the bullet and started on assaults. I got carried away.

For those who think there is little hope. Average latency was 280ms, and it was 99% PUGged.

To all those who have set in game goals, my best wishes that you achieve them.

So, ideas?

What do you do next?

save up cbills for new mechs released, usually 1 every month.
Get each and every mech you have fully equipped in its preferred set up and acquire spare equipment to change its roles.
Get modules for every mech.

BTW Congrats, it is quite a feat. I am about 2/3 of the way there. only have assaults left to do :)

Yeah, must have been a while ago, or one sporadic moment.

The good news is I'm back in my beloved Centurions again (until about 8 hours time, when I start on the Trebuchets)

Thanks. You made me look good!

Lol this was like 5 days ago. Not sure I'm going to get the trenchbucket, it's basically a cent with less armor. We will see.

What comes next? Well, maybe you should take out the catheter and go see if the sun still exists.

Right now it doesn't here (raining for last two days). And I never had a catheter. I make sure I break for at least 10 minutes every hour of play (Workplace Health and Safety Recommendations for screen use).

Few things on the boil. Whole system should be self-sustaining by the end of my premium time in 6.7 days. I'll take it easy, play a few fun games, do a monthly grind, and do a few little projects I have on the boil. Finishing off some job training, things like that. I have things to do, but all are long term stuff.

Congrats! I never set a goal to master everything (and am only about halfway there). If you really want a new goal in this game you can share mine. I decided to reach 1 million spare xp on my favorite mech to see what happens (I'm guessing nothing). Just take your favorite build out relentlessly and once you hit 1 million chassis xp demand a 1 million xp cost benefit....

I'm at about 700k on my Catapult C-4. With 1 million xp my pilot should know enough about the C-4 to put chrome spinners into the knee joints at least, or do a Last Starfighter death blossom at best (fingers crossed).

With how many games you play you could beat me to the mark. Then you can tell me that 1 million triggers an auto convert to GXP, a rollover (back to zero), a CTD whenever you enter the pilot lab, mechs start shooting rainbows, or nothing in particular as I imagined. But that is only the first step; after the 1 mil goal comes the 10 mil goal, then the 100 mil goal, and so on until the game can't handle the integer length. Then I can report it as a bug, and that day will be glorious......
