When ELO comes the Splattapult will be putt into it's place. Against experienced players it is nearly useless.
As most knew how to fight it. Against inexperienced Players it is a weapon of Doom ruining whole matched by taking out 3-4 Players which don't know how to defend against them.
Thats the whole Problem Splattapults and Dual AC/20 Cats cause.
They start the tipping of a battle in both ways. I have seen often enough running two Closecombat Cats in Frozen through the Caves attacking my Team... and beeind vaporized in 30 Seconds, and then we turned around and steamrollered the Enemy team which now had a disadvantage of 2 missing Heavy Mechs.
And we had taken only on one Heavy 30% damage.
On the otherhand, a Splattapult sneak attack _can_ take out half the Team before it can build up a defence...
We will get 12v12 in about 5-6 weeks, we will get a larger Map in 2 Weeks the next Big map in 6 Weeks.
We will get ELO in 2 Weeks. We got an improvement on large Energy Weapons... the whole Discussion is simply 7 Weeks to early. Then it will show that the Splattepult and DualACPults are only good in closecombat situations against inexperienced Players.
In TT in playing, i had only very limited success with my Hunchback. Because everybody knows how bad a Hunchback can be if it gets in 6 Hex distance. I had only Success when playing Doubleblind, or the Opponent didn't expect that i would take the risk going into a Building and fire out of it.. next time he stayed more away from this. You can draw a parralell to MW:O Extreme Alpha close range Brawling Builds, will be focused and watched by experienced Players. When the Teams are larger having two Cats going into your team killing 4 Mechs and then you kill them won't be such severe as know as it garants the victory when you have 2 combat worthy and 2 damaged Mechs left and the enemy got 6 untouched.
It is a different to having 6 combat worthy and 2 damaged Mechs left and the Enemy 10 untounched. So the Odds are better, and a larger Team can defend better against Brawlers.
