Ok, poll is pretty self explanatory, and hopefully a bit less biased than the other one I could find, but please suggest re-wording of questions if anyone feels they are pushed to choose an answer that doesn't reflect their actual opinion on the subject (and their previous / likely spending pattern under the new system).

I realise that there is a strong feeling on the forum that people want multi-use unlocked paint, but I'm trying to gauge if there is still a strong market for cheaper single use paint for those people that don't want to use the same colour over and over

edit; spelling

Now on a more serious note, I appreciate the fact that you actually made the post in a relatively non-inflammatory way.

Now I shall vote.

I've tried to keep it as neutral as possible... as forlorn a hope as it may be, I am hoping this thread doesn't degenerate in to a massive argument about paint prices, there are other more inflammatory threads for that already, I only want to gauge the level of response on the possibility of re-introducing the OPTION of single use paints at the lower prices

I'm not rage-quitting over the subject, just slightly disappointed that if I want to buy the same paint as I had previously (each colour bought used on only 1 mech), I now have to pay 3-4 times the price, which I'm not going to do

of course the thread only stays current if people post comments, so in that respect I'm hoping people do post comments, but civil ones would be nice

I like the new system.

The only thing I would change is:

1) Add more colors to the cheaper tiers
2) Include the paints that come with patterns as a single package (i.e., you buy a pattern and you also own the paints that come with it)

interesting - when you say "colours come as a package with the pattern;
do you mean within the current price for the single use pattern?
if so, are the colours included with the pattern single use, or unlocked?
OR as a new option that is more expensive than the current pattern price, but cheaper than buying a pattern and colours separately as now?

Change this option, "Zero, are you stupid, too expensive" to just "Zero".

Not sure why it's worth complaining. I've applied single use Camo patterns to my most used mechs, to which I can choose from an array of different permanently unlocked colors to change their look anytime I please for no added cost. In addition, I can also go totally solid in any color that I have. How can this not be a total win for MWO? I'll be honest, I bought at least half a dozen of the camo colors since they are very affordable and versatile and a couple premium colors I really wanted like the best white, and a 500MC teal and purple.

jop, this

+ maybe sell the colorplates (as in: 4 colours "woodland", "desert", "winter") as a package, 25% off price of the total for those colors (so one color free by a plate-purchase, ya know?)

Done, I thought about leaving in the bit about it being expensive, or adding other Zero reasons in Q1... but realised I have nearly all the bases covered in Q3 so it's a bit redundant to keep asking why they bought Zero under the old system

Because complaining about single use colours / patterns got the OPTION of multiuse added, complaining therefore might get the OPTION of single use colours back.
You like mutli-use paint, I get that... it's a part win for MWO because now the people that want the OPTION of unlocked paint have that option, however for those of us that had paid a smaller amount and used 1 colour 1 time, we no longer have the option of paying a smaller amount for a single use that we only want to single-use, the only option is to pay a higher price, or pay nothing and get nothing.

I'm hoping that this thread is a constructive complaint, rather than a rage or whine thread.

By cheaper tiers, do you mean the lower priced MC ones, or purchasable using c-bills?

The prices don't REALLY bother me, but then again I'm not buying them all, so what does that say?

I'd also like to see certain colours blocked together, i.e. buy the PREMIUM block of colours (say 10 colours) for 5000 MC or buy them separate at 750 MC each.

I'd also like to see more colours available for c-bills instead of only 5. Maybe basic and standard available for c-bills.

I think it's terrible, for what I spent to paint ALL my mechs, (which was permanent when we did it), I can only buy ONE paint color now. I don't want to have to drop $20 on MC just to **** out my mechs that I had to drop $20 to get. I say make them cheaper, and make them unlocked at cheaper prices. I'd prefer to actually go back to the old system at this point, because once I paint a mech, I'm not going to change it for a long time. (Luckily, I figured out that you can use the PC GAMER paints away from the pattern so I can still have semi-custom mechs for free)

Edit: Apparently the word for a man in a purple suit who controls women on a corner is censored, even when not used in that manner. Hurm.

colour packs would need to be cheaper than that for me personally, given how unlikely I am to swap about colours once I've set them, 500MC per colour is still too much (given that I could previously get them for 125MC), even if that is a "discounted" price

more cbill colours would be good

as I understand it, there will be Loyalty Point skins and by association I would guess colours coming with CW... I guess I will wait for those in the meantime

i had enough MC left for 2 more months of premium time and i was saving it all up for that as i had about 13 millions cbills the time. anyway my raven 3L i use most often had the phranken skin with a bright blood red base and yellow bones. so i got my refund for camo as everyone did. and i repainted one mech the raven and i now only have enough MC left for a further 7 days after this premium times runs out.

the price is way to high. but the excuse of this is only beta we are working on it. is no comfort to us spending money.

but none of this will stop me playing my favourite game that is MW:O stompy stompy

Patterns are a rip off, paint seems mostly ok.

Not sure why they deem some colors premium and others not though.

The real money cost for paints is still too high. If it was 50 cents per color, or maybe 5 dollars for a palate, then I could see it, but not like it is.

I bought the colors that were on sale, I also bought the on sale dazzle scheme for the Catapult... then I bought a few more colors as well.

all said an done I spent about 8000MC under the new Camo Spec system... on the old system I just painted 2 mechs, totalling about 1000MC

Thanks for pointing that out; no I meant the unlocked patterns only.

Meaning if you buy the more expensive unlocked patterns, I think the paints used in that pattern should be unlocked as well. It would be a nice incentive to buy the unlocked patterns instead of the cheaper single use patterns and using colors you already own.

Mechs are too pricey, paints are too pricey.

Apparently PGI should just clap their hands together and money will magically appear...

The game needs to be funded, if it's through vanity items that's an acceptable (because it does not impact the game) solution.

(Yes I think the hero mechs should be cheaper, you also should get a dump truck of Cbills if you sell one, especially if you bought it with MC, otherwise your MC is worth nothing, and why convert something into nothing).

The way it got implemented was less than great, but it's BETA (cash shop in betas has always = terrible idea) so some bumps are expected.

My advice to the whingers would be to hold your MC tight until Go Live, if you don't like surprises.

I love the new system. I think PGI is spot on with the color options and the pricing.
