I'm sorry, high prices simply drive me away. 1,000,000 cbills for a "cheap" ugly paint job... really? (a top engine only cost 5 mill. cb) $5 real money for a color? Are you serious? $30+ for a single mech... nope. I know the hard core fan base contains individuals willing to pay those prices, but I think the general game playing public will laugh it off and move on. The prices are 5X what they should be. At current prices, $30 should be 30,000 MC not 6000. Just my 30+ years of gaming experience talking... yeah, I had a Pong.

I don't know if you know this, and I don't think you do, but garish paints, patterns, and other cosmetics and bits of bling, is how F2P games make their money.

Whenever something is 'permanent,' the cost will be quite, quite a lot more, because the chains that'd normally bind you, like timed rentals, one-use, or what have you, aren't in effect.

If you can't live with 1k MC on a PREMIUM COLOR, maybe you should buy the ones that are cheaper, or the ones that are cheap and discounted? Or not buy cosmetics at all?

I see a ton of painted mechs now, rather than the n00b green of old, so the system must be working.

Patterns are a rip off, paint seems mostly ok.

Not sure why they deem some colors premium and others not though.

imo The patterns are very good price... if you want single use 75MC flavor ones. According to the old system, which was single use same as these ones, that was a lot more expensive.

The unlock flavorr patterns are, imo, expensive at 750MC each. But if they do a sale every couple months on them, I can see myself paying 375MC for ones I want.

Thankyou.

Personal opinion aside, I'm interested to see if there's a market where single use at lower prices can co-exist with unlockable content and actually feed in to each other.

As you mention in your other thread on general pricing - low cost single use paints were a low barrier to entry that could encourage users to not only buy some MC in the first place, but lead them on to paying the higher prices for unlockable content once they've acquired a taste.

I am actually kinda curious, you should add a option to the poll asking if the new price point would encourage you to buy mc, exclusively to acquire paints/camos. As opposed to the old system.

I'd also like to see more colours available for c-bills instead of only 5. Maybe basic and standard available for c-bills.

I like this Idea alot and support it fully.

I think that would need to be a whole 'nuther question, and unfortunately 3 is the limit

Given that my answers are not there, I have not voted. Note that the number of people who come in here and do what I did may be large and so any conclusion you draw from your poll may be wildly invalid.

I didn't buy any paints before. Partially that is because I am a tightwad. Partially it is because I didn't like any of the colors and patterns available for the price. Partly is it because until I have actually driven a lot of mechs in each weight class and know what I will want to drive repeatedly it's not worth kitting out a mech.

To be honest, the addition of global unlocks makes me more likely to buy paints and patterns because I won't lose them if I sell the mechs I am driving today.

I much prefer the new system. I like tweaking the colors of my mechs quite a bit. With the old system I only used my PC gamer colors. I can now buy several colors and play around with them as much as I like forever.

At first I was apprehensive to buy paints at those prices, but I must say it's really nice knowing that I can use the ones I did buy any time I want, on any of my mechs. I no longer have any mechs in my inventory with default colors...which is pretty awesome.

WAY better than buying them individually for each mech.

I did ask for input on format - what answers would you like? 145 respondents seems about right for the amount of time it's been up

you can clearly vote no to the first question
you could vote No they were/are too expensive - it's not an exact match but it's close enough?
and you could clearly either vote "I would be happy to pay the higher price for unlocks" or "I want them cheaper AND unlocked"... reading what you've written I would probably choose the latter - you would be more likely to buy paints if they were both unlocked and a bit cheaper than they are now

however if you have any ideas for answers that are closer to what you really think then please suggest them

Which isn't to say it couldn't use more.

The poll is still biased. I never bought paints under the old system. I bought the basic ones for C-Bills now, and I will never ever buy a paint for real money, even if they cost only 1 cent.

so why can't you answer Zero, Zero too expensive, and I'll never buy paint?
how is that biased? I've given you exactly the answers you appear to want

I feel I spent enough with the founders pack... and it's insulting to get nickel and dimed for paint.

Thank goodness we can all get red/black/white for free from PC gamer.

The new prices are to expensive.
I will spend some money for the game - the developing can't be done for nothing.

But so much money only for the colors - no, thank you.

I will buy premium accounts or a hero to support the development.
