Seriously. Sometimes in matches I type things out and by the end decide I shouldn't say them. Why must I now hit the backspace key once for every character I want to delete?

Bring back Backspace autofire.

The spacebar is too OP, generating extra characters every time I want to add another word, and needs to be nerfed in addition to backspace alpha striking any unwanted words upon every press.

Backspace was clearly OP before, you're just a terrible PUG and/or evil Premade who needs it as a crutch to cover his lack of real-time deleting skills.

So yeah, why was this changed?

No doubt this was a simple unintended side effect to some change they made with the new UI. I'm sure it'll get fixed. More annoying for me is how if you're typing in chat when the end of match screen pops up, it deletes what you were typing.

Then you think you are done typing and click "Enter" and it posts something incomprehensible in the all chat...... Yeah its gotten me many times when I wanna say "Nice shot" or something along those lines.

that and i'm in the habit of y and t now at the start of a match so i end up saying to all

ycan we go tunnel?

bring back y and t for all screens and the match count down, i like all that info being on the screen for a second when i'm last to join a match. :(

just my 2c

Backspace was obvously insanely overpowered. Crisis averted. ;)
(but in all seriousness, I'm glad someone brought this up.)

It's OP. You should generate 1 heat for every press of the Backspace key. Problem solved. ;)

Why would they nerf this and not touch Alt+F4?

Stupid PGI not knowing what they doing. I once downloaded a mod for Skyrim and therefore know all there is to developing a game, I demand they stop being lazy!

This and the infuriating way chat randomly disappears forcing you to rewrite the sentence.

Guys, guys... all in good time.

PGI's programmer is a busy man.

Clearly it's due to ECM jamming the key while a premade beats it to submission.

Hold down "Right Shift"

Press "Home" (highlights all the text)

Press "Delete" (backspace works too - removes all the text!)

Problem solved in instances where you need to remove it all.

I think it was changed to bring a new type of micromanagement to the game, seperating the men from the boys.

It wasn't a balance change, it was an immersion change. PGI wants to make sure you appreciate the gravity of the situation each and every time you obliterate a character.

Indeed. And even more, in the BT universe "backspace" only deletes single characters... the advanced version that does whole lines is lostech. I want this game to be true to BT canon! Good job PGI!
