Inb4 dire wolf, timber wolf, ryoken and adder announced in 1 day in the form of a founders package.
(A man can dream, right?)

(Also untrue about needing 4 chassis, when OG founders was announced there were only 2 Jenner variants, also they don't haft to be in game at the time as long as they are planned to be in game when founders assets are activated.)

Oh, God yes. A Clan founder's equivalent package? I'd throw my money at it.

Yep. Hence my signature. Almost a year away until there's full recognition of what's really going on.

Quoted from: http://www.sarna.net...eration_Revival

First Paragraph:
"The Clan Invasion (known to the Clans as Operation Revival) refers to the massive Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere... in August, 3049."
Therefore, if Sarna is any indication--and provided PGI is still sticking to the timeline--we should be looking toward August if not later for the invasion.

August 3049... which was August of last year

Though you are right in terms of when we will likely see Clan goodies this year. Probably not until summer, though we can expect concepts at least by April/May

The first attacks on Successor State planets will canonically occur in March, but most of the IS features are not implemented yet. The first IS victories occur in late summer, so they might introduce the Clans to gameplay then, but with the Year of Peace beginning in the fall, it doesn't make sense to introduce the Clans for two months, then remove them for a year. I expect that the next year will be focused on fully realizing basic levels of gameplay and community warfare with the IS 'Mechs and factions, before throwing the Clans into the mix.

We might not see Clan v. IS gameplay fully implemented until late 3051 (2014) when the invasion resumes, although it would be cool to be able to fight Clan v. Clan duels during the Year of Peace, as the Clans prepare for the next wave.

so clan info announcement in april may, current mech release schedule full untill july and the next concept art done and just waiting on the marketing people for release that means the deployment schedule is full till august really.

they havent announced any acceleration to the deployment schedule, id say communityy warfare this summer/fall and clan introduction late fall/winter.

i would like clan stuff sooner but im not gonna hold my breath. its taken them ages to release new maps and mechs are still comming every 4 weeks, i know this has been to them creating alot of the things they need to produce varried maps. consider the hurdles community warfare will throw at them like going open beta did, a whole new tech base to ballance and implement its gonna be a while, probably 4-6 months of internal testing of clan tech.

as to a clan founder program probably not, but they have been having alot of sales for MC users so when they release clan mechs i can see them having a clan mech MC sale. but since they have repeatedly said everything but hero style mechs will be c-bill purchase-able....... dont get your hopes up for clan founders.

they have also said clans will be a playable faction but they havent said how clans and IS will interact, this is what i suspect the april/may announcement to be related too since this aspect will have the greatest aspect on the game. clans might start with seperate queues but do they have the playerbase for fragmenting specialy since they want to add EU servers this year also.

There won't be any clans... I already defeated them. I did leave a few individuals alive, but tattooed the Inner Sphere names for their mechs onto their foreheads.

Yeah I could of sworn the original founder's mech were add 1 or 2 at a time, I can remember the Founder's Catapult wasn't even a mech, yet there were other Founder's mechs.

Jenner, Atlas and Hunchback were the three mechs they released concept art for at site launch/game announcement. The CAT was Mech #1 iirc, and it was introduced right away in their alpha games. Since it was their 4 mechs, and the 4 mechs that were available at the start of the Closed Beta. They had the most spit and polish and made sense to be the 3 core early game mechs. They still are, considering you do see a lot of CATs, HBK, JNR and AS7

Personally, I stand by my hypothesis that the Clans will be showcased from March through Autumn, but won't actually be playable until November 2013 or so - giving Clan players the period known as the "Year of Peace" to build up experience and XP before the Fifth wave of the Invasion (and the capability for IS vs Clan matches) is launched in November 2014.

The thing about it is, the invasion of the IS proper (that is, not the Periphery) starts in March of 3050, and proceeds in several stages.

Notably, there is a one-year lull (from Oct. 31, 3050 to Nov. 3051) where the invasion is halted due to Tyra Miraborg's slaying of ilKhan Leo Showers.

What I would expect to happen is something along the lines of:
  • We initially see ISN posts in the announcement section about worlds falling to "mysterious invaders" and such. (March-April 2013)
  • We see the concept art reveals of the Invasion-era Clan OmniMechs. (March-July 2013, assuming 1-week intervals)
  • Later, we see ISN posts in the announcement section regarding key battles with the Clans (e.g. the fall of Trell I, the first and second Battles of Twycross, the fall of planet Rasalhague, etc), as well as more information about them. (April-October 2013)
  • We see PGI/IGP staff and their relations (e.g. "Friends and Family Beta" participants) appear in-game in Clan OmniMechs for special "Fight Against the Invaders!" events. (August-October 2013)
  • "Leo Showers is killed! Clans halt their advance and fortify holdings!"; separate Clan servers are set up and the general playerbase is allowed to create Clan accounts. (October-November 2013)
  • One year of isolated tech matches (Clan vs Clan, IS vs IS) allows both sides to practice with their available tech, establish units, and build up XP. (November 2013 - November 2014)
  • "Fifth wave of the Clan Invasion begins!"; Clan and IS players are able to fight against each other in Clan vs IS matches. (November 2014)
I think that such a plan would work in PGI's favor because it would allow them plenty of time and opportunity to create, observe, analyze. and adjust Clan-related content as needed.

Though, it should be noted that the above is my personal musing, and that I do not (currently) know how PGI will implement the Clan Invasion... :P

Your thoughts?

Getting back to the very first post on this regarding the "free customization" of IS vs omnimechs. I believe to be able to have a true omnimech you can't restrict it with hardpoints like they do now. Any given location on an omnimech can hold weaapons, equipment and whatever else. If space allows you can hold 8 med. laser in one arm instead of being restricted to just 2 energy hardpoint like they have now.

If they created a founders pack for clan mechs..had the Timberwolf..Adder..Dire wolf..or other similar very famous mechs in them. I do believe they would earn a good chunk of change.

if the devs do a founders package for clan i would say that would be arround august, as for actual implementation of the clan that would probably be arround october-november ish the current mech line up only takes us to august, thats assumeing PGI stick with 1 mech per month :P (hero mechs not counted).
