It's a non-issue right now.

When they have balanced mechs and guns, fine. Now? Who cares.

Well. I don't quite get what's that hard about clicking that "spectate" button.

Still I agree an option to not get that screen at all would be nice. Especially because that screen (or at least the camera circlng the mech corpse) tends to come again if the target you were spectating happens to die.

All in all I am presonally not that interested why in detail I did die. Most of the time I died because I made a mistake/wrong decision. Nothing more I need to know about that really.

Just because your mech is disabled, doesnt mean the pilot is dead and can therefore still see what happening around his mech.

Agreed, and without being able to determine if the pilot died, then i say leave it. I know i normally get stuck looking at the ground and my poor broken corpse of a mech.

Another good idea that would take more programing, but was also in some other games, like crome hounds and armor core, would be to have your mech replaced by a trooper with a pistol. No damage to mechs, but can kill other pilots wandering the battlefield. Better then the circle your corpse or see who killed you. (although it would be nice to know the name of the guy who killed you, i don't think it shows that yet.)

What does he use to communicate with? Semaphore flags?

No, instead of seeing the enemy's view/whatever we should keep it at least limited to teammate view. There's a slight possibility killcam could be abused over Teamspeak.

No kill cam.

Oh, and the 360 degree scouting info, that's me looking out of my 'mech after it's been destroyed. Or something.

Timing out would be detrimental to death analysis. Perhaps it would work to have the camera time out, leaving a black or faction-based background.

they do have survival kits in the cockpits for this reason. Thus my statement of a pistol. They tend to also have short ranged comm units in there also, along with water, food, and maybe a coat if the world would demand it.

At this point, something like that is even more useless than Machine Guns. If it had an actual purpose, sure, but it's something they'd spend time making for no reason.

TL;DR: When you die, if you elect NOT to press "click to spectate" you are set of orbiting ghost eyes that ward the region surrounding your corpse. Not exactly cool in 8s or in general.

Just looks like yet another reason to SEPARATE THE PREMADES OUT from everyone else to me

Match filter: Ranked/Premade/Tournament Checkbox (and give me the option of avoiding the Night Maps already, PLEASE!!)

ok, are you saying it wouldn't allow communications with your teammates? Its not like they are across the globe or anything. They aren't even across the city, which most comms of that era should be able to reach easily, provided there is no ecm interference, but that's a different mater that hasn't been approached yet.

The simple solution would be using the old system that auto-switched to the view of a friendly mech and overlay the damage/cause of death screen.

I would agree. it is the fastest easiest solution that doesnt give away any unknown information.

I'd love to see a floating 3rd person spectator's view of the final moments of your mech's life. That is; you die, then you get a 3rd person floating cam watching your mech for the last 5 seconds before it's destroyed.

Agreed that there should be an auto-switch unon death, whether it's your own or a mech that you're spectating. Mainly because I don't want to have to click the "next" button.

In 8v8 or tournament level play, simply don't allow dead players to spec from their own body.
