Oh please, don't bring that derpy topic in here.

Regardless of how I feel about the whole thing, the entire situation is stupid, and has created a ton of drama within the community.

Bunch of spoiled, ungrateful bronies getting all up in arms about the whole thing, completely ignoring how much the show's creators have done, and still do for them. It's a wonder StudioB still pays attention to their fans.

This whole situation reeks of the sonic fandom, where the creators basically gave the fans everything they wanted, but the fans got angry because they seemed to forget what they wanted.

Perhaps look into the history of big fandoms, see what they did that caused them to fail, and avoid making the same mistakes.

Writing a poem about derpy with a link to the whole situation is not exactly doing that.



P.S. Am I the only person who thinks this whole situation is dumb?

I don't know what to think. I'm just bringing the topic here, as some bronies don't visit EQD as often as the news gets posted. I have to repeat myself, I really don't know what to think. I feel like I must say that I do not care and feel like I do not care, and on a personal basis, I guess I don't care. I appreciate Studio B, Hasbro, and all of the work this fandom has done to no end (I've spent over $200 on it), and the reason why I have anything to care about in this situation is how some bronies are reacting. They act like they need a hug, some good words, some information, proper reasoning, and a friend to tell them that everything is going to be alright and to calm down. I suppose they need the "love" part of "love & tolerance", and I'm not in a position to spread the gentle word that "everything is fine", because everything, really, is much better than "fine", but we'll settle with "fine" because "excellent" can be used as a hyperbole right after fine is accepted.

Just a bit of a downer seeing a whole bunch of your fellow bronies all up in arms over a good thing. I think Kreoss' message did a good job of "defusing" the situation.

Personally I find the situation idiotic. I never cared all that much for Derpy to begin with. Just another background pony to me (although slightly more cooler, not 20% more.) I enjoyed that episode for the actual episode, not the 1-2 minute part with Derpy. To see all the hate and rage generated over it frankly saddens me. How many of these people have been actually paying attention to the show? If they did, I think they'd realize the... irony? outright stupidity? Don't know what to call it... of their actions.

That being said, with no pony this week, I am saddened. But then I saw ANOTHER FLUTTERSHY EPISODE ANNOUNCED and my day was made.

Two things, first, people are stupid you should have known something like that would happen. Second, all the Fluttershy episodes will be hijacked by another character just like past episode hijacks.

The whole Derpy fiasco was dumb anyway.

The voice actress didn't intend for her to sound "mentally challenged", just silly and clumsy...oh yeah and as a male.

That is right, the voice actress derped when doing the voice, she thought Derpy was a male and not a female character.
It is the biggest reason why Derpy sounded the way she did.

Plus the people that got "offended" need to take a chill pill. Derpy is essentially the Goofy of the series, so deal with it.

Personally I like derpy, I can't say as I agree with all the fannon about her (like being a muffin obsessed mail carrier) but I thought she was cute and had the potential to be a hook for doing an episode about mental disabilities and how its not the end of a persons life/usefulness.

After all, she has a cutie mark, she has a special skill, she has a purpose.

I really liked the introduction of her as derpy with a speaking role, and frankly didn't think her voice was all that off, just husky (I mean Miley Cyrus isn't retarded, but she sounds like a boy). I disagree with editing the dvd and the itunes episodes because I liked derpy as she was, and didn't see anything wrong with her but I can understand and respect the opinions of those who do. The important thing here is love and tolerance.

Besides the name Ditzy Doo is sexist anyway.
