Also, you are imposing an inproportionately huge amount of emphasis on the distinction between "Cosplay" and "Furry", probably because of your intolerance against the latter. Creating furry fandom costumes is as much costume play as creating other costumes, like My Little Pony, Supergirl, or whatever you choose.

While semantically the two terms may be similar, there is a large social boundary between cosplay and fursuiting.

You have misused the word 'intolerant'. Aresye was not being intolerant, he was just asking for something he didn't like to be shoved into a place that he frequented, and to go into its assigned thread. If he was being intolerant, he would have done that, as well as say how stupid/discusting/repulsive/generally offensive terms(note this is not my personal opinion) you are for liking what you do.

tl;dr This is the Pony Thread, not the Pony and Furry thread, Furries have their own thread, no one is being intolerant.

Exactly. My reply was under the assumption he was saying, "Furries...this thread just got a lot better." Perhaps those 2 statements were meant to be separate, but from first glance, that's what it looked like he was saying.

Now, I'm not going to hate on furries. Compared to most people, I know what the furry fandom is about, and can understand why people have a liking to it.

However, most people do not know what the furry fandom is about, and that's what I don't understand.

You realize that by labeling yourself as a furry, people automatically assume you enjoy getting it on dressed in fursuits, right? Regardless of what the actual definition of a furry is, and the fact some people like myself know that the fandom doesn't revolve around it, that IS the socially accepted definition, corrupted by years of bad press and bad apples.

To be quite honest, I don't really know why the furry fandom hasn't adopted a different term, but that's beside the point.

Simply put, I don't want to be associated with furries, and when people are open about the fact they are a furry, post furry art, etc. while at the same time saying they are a brony, it ends up giving off the perception that bronies and furries are one in the same.

Knowing that not all furries are bronies, and not all bronies are furries, I assume groups on both sides would not like to be associated with eachother. I know I don't, so once again, please keep furry discussions to the furry topic, and we won't bring our MLP discussions into your own topic.

At least 5 posts just discussing my 8 word post? I just answered the Chukie's question if they are bronies, or furries, to which I answered: "Furries."

And then I just said that this thread is better (non related to furries... partly).

What's so hard in understanding that?
